Diet, exercise, therapy (therapy is awesome, everyone should go to get a mental and emotional tune up from time to time). Always remember that it's okay to ask for help. Creative hobbies (writing, painting, music, etc.) can be a big help as well. Looks like you're getting a lot of support here already, but if you need another person to talk to about this I'm here as well. Now go outside and get some exercise!

I used to be in the same position as you. Here's what you do: keep your chin up, workout, eat healthy, quit video games, and look in the mirror every morning and say "you are wonderful!"

It's a normal thing depending on how long it lasts. Diet can have a big impact on depression. Try exercise, works well for me but everyone is different. It could be a number of other things. If it consistently lasts longer than 2 weeks I think that classifies as clinical depression and I'd go see a professional. Just be weary of antidepressants. [spoiler]Feel free to pm. It is normal in the sense that everybody experiences periods of depression in their life. I was depressed for 6 months when a long time girlfriend broke up with me years ago. I would wait it out as long as it is situational, or caused by something. Antidepressants or suicide are not viable answers to a likely short term problem.
