Playing the full hour of the trial is just enough time to almost get the basics down. It's a survival game. You wake up on a beach almost naked and immediately need to survive. If you don't gather food and eat, you die. You don't drink, you die. Don't defend yourself, you die. You will die a lot while learning. After the very strong learning curve, the game is awesome. You gather resources to make clothing, armor, tools, weapons, structures, defenses, etc. You tame Dino's which all have different purposes. You can join or create and manage a tribe, then help each other survive, share resources an XP, etc. You can go to war with other tribes, plunder their riches, etc. There are caves to raid and gain materials and artifacts. They are still adding things to the game. I highly recommend purchasing ark.

I gave the hour Trial a shot on XB1. It was 45 min of getting killed by some trolls on various servers (my fault because I picked PVP) and then when I finally made my first camp fire my time was up. Honestly though it didn't seem TOO bad but it felt like it would be a game that you would either play with friends or become incredibly bored. It also seemed like one that would require a lot of time to get anywhere and since I'm already playing other games I decided to pass on it. I'd watch some videos on it but honestly it seems once you get past the coolness of being able to tame a dinosaur, unless you have people that you are going to be playing on your server with it would become boring unless you are really into survival type games.

It is a very popular game. And I bought it on Xbox One, only to stop playing it within a day. The graphics have this very... weird look to them that bothers me. That and I can never get onto a server since every single one is constantly full. There are better survival games honestly. It just wasn't a fun experience for me, even when playing with friends. Deleted it just yesterday, but maybe you would enjoy it.
