I can hardly believe how bad the matchmaking for the Crucibke has gotten. Itonly seems to get worse. I've not had one single match-up where each member of my opposing team wasn't 5-15 light higher since the new settings were announced for Iron Banner. Let's not forget to mention the cheaters and their glitches, also. I saw one player finish a match with a 4.8K/D (24-5), which I have not seen the like of since I started playing last year. As far as I am concerned, there's no way that's possible unless you were somehow invisible the entire match.
More importantly, my light is barely 300, it should not even be a possibility for me to encounter a 315 or 320 in the Crucible and it has been a constant issue for weeks! It's an easy fix, weight classes - break the light into 10 point classes. Make it about player skill instead of gear. Make it less like Call of Duty, I'm tired of that some old song and dance.
I shouldn't be dumping a whole magazine out of my 307 shotgun and not killing my enemy or needing to melee twice (especially with a 297 Void Edge), that means his gear is too far ahead of mine. Story mode and Strikes are set up to avoid that, why isn't the Crucible?
It is beginning to feel like the only aspect of MMORPG that this "MMOFPS" took to heart was armor and unbalanced leveling.
For one very important example, every MMO has a message board and/or public message system built in, so that you can meet people within the game. That's how Raids are usually set up. Not through some "companion app." To make it worse, this thing doesn't interact with the game either! Third party apps do more for Destiny than Bungie's does!
There is no apparent balance to the matchmaking at all. A player should never be matched against players with 10 points higher light and/or 1000+ higher Grimoire score. Those alone tell me that person has alot more time in game and gear I can't rival. It makes one team cannon fodder. One more thing, what is up with the reward system!? Why have I gotten nothing food from a Crucible match ever? I get better rewards from Bounties than Strikes, Crucible, or Story mode! Seriously, what is your malfunction!?
I am pretty good, but not so good I can fight enemies that are essentially 10 levels higher than me. This garbage is stomping on my K/D. Fix our matchmaking so that we get some fair fights, please. Even aside from my own performance looking bad because of these crappy settings, I went from winning about 3/5 matches to about 1/7.
If a good update doesn't come out in the next week or so, I'm abandoning this game. Which is a shame, I fell in love with it an hour in and now it leaves me unsatisfied and often angry for feeling cheated when I turn it off.

I'm actually about done now, You can't go to crucible for fun it's just sweat sweat sweat!

Just did two rounds, then got off. It felt like I couldn't sight in on anyone. Honestly felt like zero aim assist on my primary, it's like trying to shoot your partner in patrol, it wouldn't stick. In not asking for mida AA, just saying I know my primary, I know it's stickiness and I couldn't get a bead. It felt like I was on skates, literally took a couple steps to stop. Connection is green and my up down are solid as well as ping. Is anyone else having that happen? I'm not the best by any means my KD is 1.5. Going .52 KD with a grip of assists is weird I just couldn't follow up shots. Is that the destiny side lag?

Matchmaking has actually gotten better. If you don't like playing people with more light than you, put in the time to level up.....that's how they got there.
-
Completely agree. Match making as gotten worse with every update. Constantly paired with people that lag and glitch across the maps. Hits don't register and its no fun. If you connection isn't good enough then don't let them join the game or boot poor connection WITHOUT penalty. Nothing worse then poor connection screwing up a trials card when it's your service providers fault.

Unless you're in Trials of Iron Banner, your light level doesn't matter. I usually run at sub 300 because I like using my year-one guns and sometimes gear. Plus, being a 320 doesn't equate to skill level in the crucible.

Edited by RelentlessWolf: 3/11/2016 6:19:11 AMthe update actually made the crucible more playable i do not see teleporting players or players not taking dmg anymore. lagswitchers or players who messed with and or lowered their connection are the only ones effected. Try a nat type 1 connection if you are having any issues with this update. Skill based matchmaking is sadly still in effect so thats not the issue with u so i suggest just practicing. The only way to get better at video games is to lose you do not improve by winning.

What sense does it possibly make to prioritize latency or skill in video game matchmaking!? This isn't a conference call you clowns! It's a virtual battle! Latency is second only to skill. I don't need to have a perfect connection to people I can't compete with or that can't compete with me. Just boot people with a bad connection or don't let them sync-up to begin with so you can focus on the more important skill matching! Hey Derek, high-quality connections don't make high-quality matches. High-quality matching makes high-quality matches!
