Easily the best Fire Emblem yet.
The main character is far more interesting than Robin in Awakening. Not to mention just about each character is interesting.
The whole situation of choosing between your birth family and the family who raised you (or not choosing) was honestly a tough choice. Not to mention both Birthright and Conquest have very interesting story lines. And don't even get me started on Revelations. It is easily the ultimate Fire Emblem experience. The fact that you get basically all the characters, and you're able to get over the whole "pick a side" ultimatum is interesting. Facing the "true enemy" instead of picking a side and tearing off a piece of your family was a very satisfying thing to do.
As far as game play, I also like how they balanced the pair up function, by not allowing your paired unit to attack with you, but instead they just build up a meter that lets them block an attack guaranteed.
However, as much as I think of Conquest, Birthright and Revelations to be their own distinct games, I'm not sure if selling each path for 20 dollars was the most customer friendly move, even if it was great for business.
Thoughts?

I really like fates, but its probably the most tedious fire emblem I've ever player. I dont get the fun feeling of strategy. There's so many new mechanics and classes that its more stressful than anything.

Not reading OP, since I am considering getting Fates, but I wanted to ask Since I haven't played a Fire Emblem game (closest I have played is Advance Wars 2, which has similar gameplay but is fundamentally very different), should I spring for Bloodlines (which I would then play through and purchase Conquest and Revelations as the DLC, playing those in that order), or pick up Awakening and play through that first? You claim that Fates is the best. Is that solely for story reasons or are there reasons you could give me without spoiling anything?

Can't wait to start playing revelations! I'm still trying to figure out who I'm gonna pair up though

Playing through Awakening; plan on getting Fates when I'm done with it.

Haven't played it but it seems cool for the 3ds. I'm still gonna call it Friend Fondling Simulator though
