Yes, the weapon has had an edit to its original form, but it is still a disappointment to wield in either PvP or PvE. The gun itself from the stats promises a heavy hitting but slightly slow firing weapon that can get what you don't like out of your way if you can land your shots.
The reason it feels so poor in PvP is that ever-present slow fire rate. In most engagements, it gets you killed, and is only ever used as an assist weapon for team play, knocking down enemy health and drawing aggro. But alone, the gun fails time and time again. The triple tap is a now common HC perk, but the problem is the exotic perk-a stability buff, range buff, and insta-reload on your first precision kill. You are lucky if you get any kill against your foes. The buffs leave as you reload, and send you back to square one as you attempt to push through whatever environment you find yourself in.
PvE pins it as an even more useless weapon. Sure, it hits heavy and has a reload for you when you hit through a shield, but that first precision kill tends to be on a lowly acolyte or dreg, wasting the perk immediately. Stability does help at times, but the range? Ever since the HC nerf on range, never have I seen a more desperate attempt to gain that extra few meters it just can't quite reach. The gun is thus defaulted to a mediocre weapon with no real exotic feel to it.
The change I propose is this: keep true to the weapon's feel. A gun that makes death feel as an afterthought. Care not for your health if your aim is true. Change the entire exotic perk for it to add a slight rate of fire when your health is low. Losing the stability buff would make it more difficult but more rewarding to use, the range was never truly potent, and the shoot a guy, get bullets perk is unreliable at the times that make any gun count.
I believe that this would make the gun feel more exotic, more personalized to what it is trying to be, and hope that this message one day finds someone who cares enough to mention it to someone with the means to make a change. I have always been rooting for this gun and always will be, but I hate feeling so depressed every lackluster kill I get when I realize how much more exotic so many weapons are.

If you ever run into me using first curse you will say nerf that shit. 😂 it needs more ammo and recoil. I don't want this weapon nerfed. Use it with Max range. Really good for trials. Mine is 318 only think I lose to is Trials auto rifle cause it screws my aim up. Last word is for disabled people. First curse takes skill.

Edited by Dexter307: 3/16/2016 6:57:55 PMThe first curse itself doesn't really need any buffs. Maybe make the movement speed buffs more noticeable. The lowest fire rate hand cannons need a buff as a whole though. IMO I'd say no changes to impact/fire rate as it is already in a spot where you trade some TTK for damage which is useful in many situations such as assisting in kills, helping with damage drop off, causing more flinch ect. I'd say increase the flinch multiplier for this archetype from 1.75 to 2.0 so that while you have a below average TTK on non-low armor targets you make up for it by making it hard to shoot back at if you're hitting people.

Give it the RoF of TLW!!
-
I think it needs a damage buff giving it a 2hk with the perk active along with an accuracy buff for all hc.
-
Well hmm tlw does 100 critical so how about first curse does 120!
-
It's not a bad weapon but it's hard to compete competivrky with it because the rate of fire is just a little too slow. It has insane impact, yet Hawkmoon fires faster and deals about the same damage. Needs a buff to rate of fire.
-
It needs a longer range and more accuracy. The range is currently about nerfed hawkmoon status. If it were esyaluna with rifled barrel status (with no artificial inaccuracy) it would be good. It would let you engage at those longer ranges more reliably. Sure, there are things that kill faster than it (looking at you thorn/tlw/grasp). However it has a lot of potential and handles like a dre. Just needs that little extra push to be amazing. And it's not bad for pve as the mechanics go. I just spray body shots till I get down to my last bullet or two, then go all headshots. It works out to be about 20 shots if you do it well enough without having to reload. 8 original mag + 8 refill + 4 triple taps. (Counting the original headshot that triggers the perk) P.s. perhaps the ability to 2-shot low armor players with the perk active? Rewarding precision after getting that first precision kill.

Edited by TruthMakers: 3/14/2016 7:56:52 PMGive the option to have a scope now tht would make it exotic And idea i goy from someone else
-
I think it's fine but they should give it a scope, that would make it exotic
-
Needs an accuracy buff its a little difficult to land that second or third headshot
-
The problem is the reserve ammo in pve. It doesn't get a huge amount making it unviable. I still say it should have outlaw and reactive reload. That will be fun! One head and one body after a reload would be a curse. Or the first headshot after an auto reload makes 1.5 damage on the head shot. Call the perk first curse.
-
actually in the right hands you can get shrekked! like i went against a worthy noble opponent and he wielded it with power! the first curse is actually strong. lol but some handcannons are hard to use.
-
I would love if firefly was an option. Or if The First Curse perk was actually a curse (like a debuff) and was easier to trigger.
-
Give it the option to have explosive rounds!
-
It just needs a slight buff so it can 2 shot consistently in the crucible. Maybe buff deadeye a bit so the movement speed is more noticeable.
-
Got 47 kills with it in frontier, before it got its supposed "buff"
-
Got an unbroken yesterday with it and got 45 kills on defender titan with it. The gun is fine in the right hands. You need to land headshots and have the right positioning to be effective with it.
-
No fire rate buffs! Use a different hand cannon if you don't like the fire rate. The gun is perfect as it is
-
Such a cool gun that's almost there, but not good enough.
