I was using the google translator app. My Great Grand parents on my Dad's side came to America from Norway. They had my Grand Father soon after. So other than English I figured Norwegian would be the closest to a native language.

You might've actually been right. I thought you were speaking Swedish because simple phrases can be near identical to Norwegian.
