The Division does not seem like it will have something for everyone and it looks like the longevity of it will be based on the PVP zones where you fight other players for top gear loot. So for anyone that is a big PVE player this will die down in a few months, same as Destiny did perhaps sooner really. If you are a pvp player you may be happy with that but it also depends on your preferred game style since the Division seems to only be from a 3rd person perspective and most shooters aren't.
Destiny isn't losing anyone because they know everyone jumping on the Division is just bidding time until Destiny releases its next DLC and everyone will come right back like good little sheep.
Personally If they don't change up their format to make the game have longevity in terms of activities, I will get the dlc's like I did with Taken King, a few months AFTER release day. Since there is no way to bring forward old gear, and new gear eventually becomes obsolete, there's absolutely no incentive to buy any future DLC on day one! At the very least this will give Bungie a clear indicator that I am fed up with the direction of this game which is the only way they will change their tune. If you don't buy it, they wont abuse their power, its that simple. Even if you enjoy the game like I do, buying it a few months after release will send a clear message that change is necessary.
