Might I mention that from a lore perspective, bringing back Sepiks, Sekrion and Omnigul wouldn't make sense. All three Strikes have been confirmed to have already "happened" in TTK. We find Sepiks' remains in the Cayde's Stash mission, Echo Chamber is built around the fact that we took out Sekrion, and in The Promethean Code, Cayde says: "Omnigul's screams have already been silenced."
Now before anyone starts spouting hate at me for not wanting to have variety in Nightfalls, I would like to add that I infact do. The thing is, I am such a huge lore nerd that I cannot help but point things like these out. Also, Phogoth and Aksor could always return, as they are not, to my knowledge, included in any Quests, or otherwise mentioned to have been defeated.

Doesn't mean they can't make a level 40 version
-
Whats that supposed to mean for xbox who dont have the echo chamber?
-
In Echo Chamber, you're stopping the Vex from bringing back Sekrion, the Nexus Mind we destroyed in Y1. Basically, without The Nexus having already happened, Echo Chamber cannot happen.
-
You misunderstand. The xbox cant access that lore this year seeing as it is an exclusive strike to playstation.
-
The nightfall isn't about lore though.
-
I imagine you're one of those players who have no idea whatsoever about why we're killing Oryx, who Oryx is and what his motives are.
-
Why the insults man? What is about destiny forums that the default response is being jerky. You argued that it wouldn't make sense to bring the old strikes back by lore standards. My point was just that the nightfall isn't there for lore. It's meant to be an endgame activity. The lore in destiny is pretty well done from everything I've seen. But I haven't spent a lot of time studying it. But i know at least as much as is in the game, which is very little. I've read and heard bits and pieces of the rest. But it needs to be in the game. Having a "book of Shadows" is great and all, but it should be accessible somewhere in the game. Regardless of how little someone knows about the lore though, my point remains. The nightfall isn't there to spread lore. We already did those strikes anyway.
-
I apologise about that. Most people that argue against me when I talk about lore in the game's activities mostly use arguments like yours simply because they can't think of anything better. I'm tired of it, and you just came across as another one of those people. Sorry. Anyway, while your point is vaild, I didn't say that the Nightfall and/or the Strikes in general are there to spread lore. My point is that with the evidence the game has given us in Story Missions and Quests, it makes sense why Bungie chose not to bring the Y1 strikes to the Y2 Heroic and Nightfall playlists.

That might be true if it were consistent. But it's not. Several of the strikes are pre-ttk, including Omnigul now that it's back in the rotation. That predates the death of Crota, which is a part of the taken king storyline. Plus, some of the old strikes were updated to include taken enemies, which completely breaks the lore. We've already killed Valus, yet now we run that strike with taken involved. Endgame activities are not meant to be limited by lore. Doing so limits replayability tremendously. The idea of endgame activities is to have something to do once you have reached the "end of the game", and have completed everything related to the story. I'm sorry you misunderstood me, but I never said anything against the lore in my comment. I simply stated that nightfalls aren't there for lore purposes. I stand by that. If strikes are rotating randomly and being modified to include enemies that didn't exist in them when they were current anyway, then there is no reason to leave them out.

Then why do people play the raid more than once? You've already killed Oryx. Any point in playing it?
Just from a lore perspective.

Please don't take this seriously. You do actually make an interesting point. Never though of it that way.
Well, the other bosses could always return. The Warpriest has his own Oversoul (Oculus), possibly meaning he has his own Throne World, and the Daughters are powerful enough to have their own Throne Worlds. Golgoroth is supposedly sustained by the Darkness itself, through the Tablets of Ruin, so that power might be able to bring him back. So if Oryx's lieutenants needs to be killed again, there's a point. Otherwise, no, the Raid is probably not, lore-wise, playable more than once.

Checkm8, though.
-
So then why did they bring back taniks if that is all ready been completed.
-
The Shadow Thief hasn't been completed. No Reef characters ever says anything about it, and the HoW Quest doesn't include it. We also don't know who hired Taniks, so he could have easily been hired by the Wolves following Orbiks Prime during TTK instead of Skolas during HoW. Not that I really can see a reason for this, but the fact that Ghost mentions that the Fallen broke into the Hellmouth during Lost ot Light is something worth thinking about.
