Psst… hey, you…. yeah, you! C’mon over here and lemme- AHA! *whips off trenchcoat sides* MANAGEMENT HERE! WOULD YA LIKE A BRAAAAAND NEW, CHAPTER INDEX!? *coat lined with chapters* Chapter Index: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/194154949 _______________________ Man, you guys are relentless! Well, let’s see... I’ve got more stories than I can count, and all the time in the world… alright, I guess I can tell you another one. So, I think I’ll tell ya about that time I got into a fistfight with a Fallen Captain. See, it was about... 4 or so years ago, when I decided to do some work out on the frontier. I transmatted into my ship and headed out for the Cosmodrome. Before I got there, however, (believe me, I still regret it) I decided to do some sightseeing around the walls of the city. It was a beautiful night, and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. A few minutes into my stargazing tour, I saw something… bright. And it was moving in my direction. In fact, it was getting closer, and it seemed to be headed right for me! I decided I’d best not stay in the path of the flaming object. After moving a grenade’s throw away, I turned back to watch the impact. Not long after it crashed, the smoke cleared up and the object came into view. It was a ship! Flames were spewin’ from the broken wing, and there was no pilot in plain view. When the flames died down and it wasn’t too hot for comfort, I went up for a closer look. And what did I find? Why, none other than a Fallen Captain! It had been flying a guardian’s ship! It must have been knocked unconscious by the impact, so I moved closer. Closer, and closer… I could smell its rancid breath filling the air. I was no more than a butter knife’s width away from the creature when it caught my scent. I didn’t even see its eyes flick open. The head came roaring up, and the shock blades followed right after. One of ‘em grazed my knee, and it hurt like hell. I reached for my rifle, but I left it over on my sparrow’s storage compartment. So, without any other option, I pulled out my trusty knife. We had to have been dancing with blades for at least 10 minutes before it caught me by surprise with an uppercut from one of its extra arms. It grabbed my knife and threw it clear across the ship’s cabin! I did some quick thinking, and knocked the shock blades right out onto the ground. As they skittered away, I knew it was only just getting started. Except now, it was four arms against two. Hardly a fair fight. Ya know, for the Captain. I bashed my fist so hard into its skull that the Prime Servitor back in whatever hole it came from musta’ felt it. It wavered on its feet, and slumped to the ground with a satisfying “thud.” The darn thing was out cold. I felt bad for it, though, so I ended up taking it to my sparrow and moving it someplace out of the way. After loading it onto the back, near my rifle (which, in hindsight, was a terrible idea), I drove off for the Forgotten Shore. Upon arrival, I looked around for a good place to hide a body. A place where it wouldn’t be at risk of getting shot at in the crossfire of guardian activity. I found a cave in the canyon, hidden behind a waterfall. It seemed like a good place at the time, because there was room in the cave for movement and it wasn’t in plain sight. Thinking back, though, maybe it wasn’t the best place to hide away with an angry, murderous Fallen Captain. Time passed, and the Captain slowly woke up. I’d taken its Shock Blades and bound its arms to a wall, so there was minimal chance for it to attack me. Or so I thought. As it turns out, this Captain was trained in the art of pre-golden age American Kickboxing. Luckily for me, it must have been dizzy from the concussion, because it narrowly missed my face and fell down again. When the Captain had calmed down, I approached it -cautiously- and attempted to speak to it. Apparently, the thing spoke a small amount of English, because I was able to communicate with it, to an extent. The voice seemed to be feminine. Ya know, as feminine as a Fallen Captain can get. That would explain why the fighting style didn’t seem as aggressive as some of the other Captains I’ve seen. I asked about the ship, and why it was out in the Cosmodrome. It turns out that a guardian had attempted to fly into the territory of her house (Which turned out to be the House of Scar). The captain had boarded the ship and thrown out the pilot, but the wing was damaged in the fight. Naturally, since the Captain didn’t know how to fly guardian spacecraft, she wasn’t able to alter the course of the ship. It got caught in Earth’s gravity, and she crash landed. That’s when I showed up. I felt pity for her. She hadn’t done anything to attack the guardians. In fact, I hadn’t heard of the House of Scar (aside from that big Taikonaut thing a while back), so it was unlikely that the house had been at war with guardians at all. It was an act of territorial defense. I didn’t see any reason to kill the Captain, so I unbound her from the wall. She still couldn’t leave the cave, however. The Forgotten Shore was under control of the House of Devils, who apparently had a history of infighting with the House of Scar. Discovering a member of House of Scar in Devil's’ territory would surely lead to her execution, if not total war between the houses. I had a plan, though. After she’d recovered from her injuries, which took a few weeks, I had my ghost transmat us up to my ship. It was a tight fit, since the ship was only made for one passenger. As odd as it was, the Captain had to sit in my lap. After an hour of flying through hyperspace to a remote base on the moon, we’d managed to make it to the House of Scar’s territory. A ship had intercepted us, but the Captain spoke into her communication device. We were clear to land. After a quick goodbye, I was told that I could return to the moon base if I ever needed to. They said they’d try not to mistake me for an enemy and shoot me down. They also told me about that fallen in the tower- ah- his name waaaasss- Jaik. Yeah, Jaik. There was a big story on him, around 10 years ago. And that, my friends, is how I got into a fistfight with a captain, then rescued her, and became an ally of a Fallen house. Ah- Just don’t go telling the Vanguard about that last part, okay? _______________________ Thanks for reading! ~Derpish
