They are completely different universes, their tech is not the same.

If you are referencing the Lightsaber/Plasma sword discussion the two are different in aesthetics only. Both use an energy based core wrapped in magnetic field run off battery cores and manipulators that give them their different looks. For all intents and purposes a plasma sword is a lightsaber.
