Toughness. Your health is increased. Mainly it allowes you to survive certain stuff that can normally one shot yeah. Search up Fallout Plays on YouTube. He does a full breakdown of it's uses.

Edited by garg'o'doom: 3/5/2016 7:24:08 PMMy warlock with the ram and my max armor striker titan are the only times I have not died to a shoulder charge. That is what I noticed the most with it. Also, I have survived sticky grenades with it.

Ram was epic in year one if you equipped it properly. Many times it has saved my bacon and many times have I taken down warlocks with Ram then again I was using thorn when I got it. Yes I'm that guy however I emptied the magazine and not related on DOT.

You will only be able to see the true power of your gear in Light v Light game types such as the Trail of Osiris. Since patch 2.0.1, Bungie tried 'balancing' normal crucible play to allow an even challenge between all players. So, your 320 weapons and armor will not have that much of an effect on enemy players.

The Ram got nerfed between Year One and Year Two. So you're not going to see a dramatic increase in Survivability simply by equipping it (anymore). The best way to think of it is that it will allow offset the disadvantages of Warlock's low baseline armor stats. So that you can go into either PVP or PVE with both good armor AND good recovery. Or average armor, but good recovery and agility. Plus having Energy Drain proc on hits rather than kills is a VERY nice bonus.

Alright, with the ram/chest boost, could you tank a sniper headshot while radiance is active?

Edited by Fridén: 3/2/2016 11:06:24 PMRam adds +3 armor. Chest Piece adds +1 armor. The original ram added +5 armor. Using the chest piece add the ram is close to what it added originally. The bonus to extra armor is situational and depends on the weapons your opponent is using. The bonus you get is constant tough. It is still one of the best exotics in the game.

It only makes a difference if you have max armor + an elemental chest piece.

It's a huge difference. You survive a direct hit from the slam that the shade in the black dome does during Oryx fight on hard - and not only that, it usually leaves you with a great chunk of health left too. And for pvp, same goes for should charge.

There is a huge difference dude. Your just doing it all wrong
