How about some additional chest armor perks that help you withstand these effects. They could go something like:
Burn resistance- reduces the duration of burn
Poison resistance- reduces the duration of poison
Flash resistance- reduces the duration of blindness
(I added the flash resistance because I think it would be a nice choice to have as well.)
I think these ideas would be a great solution because it helps out the people who dislike damage over time (or blindness), while also making them think more strategically about the armor they wear. The best part is that Thorn, Firebolt grenades, and anything else that burns or poisons remain untouched.

Yup, every single grenade. Pulse Vortex Scatter Bolts Walls Lightning Trapmines All of em. Then no one can say "Bwahh, it takes you out of the game for like 14 seconds before your health recharges" No more waiting 14 seconds, cause you'll be dead. Press respawn and go again. Only then will I believe that Sunsingers are the most OP class in the game. Sunsingers with maxed Discipline and HoPF... Solar bolts... Insta kill frenzy. Won't even need Touch of Flame and Viking funeral. Take those perks out. Gift of the sun for two nades?! Now that is OP as hell.
