6÷2 (1+2) Going by pemdas, it goes as follows: 1+2 = 3, making us at: 6÷2 (3) Now, we continue: 6÷2=3 3×3= 9

Well, it depends. If you're multiplying (6/2) by (1+2), then you get 9. If it's 6 divided by (2(1+2)), then it's 1. The way you wrote it is rather ambiguous, so it could be either or.
