It's 9

6/2(1+2) 6/2•3 3•3 9
ez
.....1

Is it (6/2)(2+1) or 6/(2 (2+1)) Because without horizontal division lines both are correct as either 9 or 1 respectively evidence from Berkeley edu

Distributive Property 6/2(1+2) -> 6/(2+4) -> 6/6 = 1

This is a legit way to get math homework done.

Edited by TriumphantLord: 2/27/2016 2:43:42 PMPeople need to -blam!-ing learn what Pedmas(or Bodmas or bedmas or Pemdas or Pemdsa or what the -blam!- you use). The acronym is like that so young children can remember how to do it. Multiplication doesn't not come first just because what you learned is PEMDAS. Multiplication and division are done in the order they appear in the equation(left to right). Now that we got that out of the way, let's do math! -PEDMAS(What I use) 6/2(2+1) = ? -Parentheses: 2+1=3 6/2•3 -Exponents: N/A 6/2•3 -Division/Multiplication: 6/2 comes first so we do that. 3•3 -Division/Multiplication: 3•3 is what's left so we do that. 3•3=9 There you have it! The answer is nine!
The answer can be different with the insertion of for parentheses however. Carry on.
-blam!- off

The only correct answer is 9

Edited by Pro: 2/27/2016 10:04:06 PMThe only mathematically correct answer is 9.

Nine. Do what's in the parenthesis first, then work the equation out from left to right, since all that's left is multiplication and division. That's what high school taught me anyway.

9 bruh

and guess what, order of operations is never used in adulthood.

Shoobeedooba!

1 man it's 1

9 cause math...

9 and 1

6/2(1+2) 6/2*3 3*3 9
use order of operations
Edited by Cintron: 2/27/2016 4:42:40 AM1. 6 _________ 2(1+2) Same equation, much less dispute. Math easy. And why parenthesis are important. You obviously know how to use them op please stop trying to break the internet.

6÷2(1+2) 6÷2(3) 6÷6 1 Use PEMDAS
