I have this one issue with damage referee and understanding it's raison d'être.
Since we have hitscan weapons and I assume melees/abilities as well, what's the point of damage referee?
As long as I hit the enemy on my screen, it doesn't matter how hard the enemy lags, the damage I do should be applied, which is the reason why hitscan is used.
So why introduce damage referee?

My understanding is that it is to combat lag that benefits them. Say you snipe them in the head, and they clearly after you got the headshot (lets say you are behind the corner) then get hit by them, and then they die. It's to prevent things like that from happening.
