Wonder if I can get a golden GoW3 Hammerburst...
-
You should be able to if you get rank 100 on gears 2 if I remember correctly. That'll give you the old guard medal. Not something to do alone.
-
I got it from midnight release at Blockbuster. I used that thing so much.
-
Oh okay. I wasn't able to pre order 2, only 3.
-
Yeah, I didn't even get their at Midnight. I don't think they had a Midnight Release. They just got a bunch of codes and I got one. Speaking of, if you still play Crackdown 2 or Fable 3, I've got codes from them for preordering. I worked there till it sank.

Edited by Onyx Guard: 2/26/2016 10:21:19 AMOh cool. Were you actually there to see it go down? I see movie galleries are still staying open, at least in my area. I've never been able to play either game, unfortunately. Always wanted to try Crackdown, but I don't know anything about the fable series.
-
I got laid off a few months before the whole thing went down, but more or less, yeah. "The End of Late Fees" where they dropped the dollar a day late fee in favor of a far more convoluted method reduced profits by a fifth, then a few years later Netflix and Redbox came along and dealt the killing blow. Apparently Blockbuster had the idea for Netflix like, a decade before, but they were #1, so why compete against yourself? It was a long, slow death. Saved for a time by getting bought by DISH for a percentage that they bought themselves for from Viacom in '98. DISH just wanted the name and kept stores not hemorrhaging money long enough that they didn't have to pay early lease termination fees. Didn't help that I had one boss in eight years that I liked and she left after six months for a better paying, less responsibility job hours closer to home. Crackdown 1 was good for it's time, but both feel dated nowadays. If you want that over the top "Like Grand Theft Auto BUT" game, I'd suggest Saints Row IV. It's also on PS4 and X1 now too. Fable...I have mixed options on. On one hand, it's a very solid third person fantasy game that unlike pretty much ever other one, doesn't take itself seriously. On the other hand, if you play the serious first one or lose interest in the humor, it feels slow and shallow compared to more modern fair. If you're on your 360 and get them for cheap, it might be worth your time. Otherwise, just get The Witcher III.

Borderlands lol
Borderlands lol
-_-
-
Really? I never made that connection before
-
Yes. Our gunsmith is voiced by the guy who does the voice for Bender, Marcus Fenix, Jake the dog, and several others I can't think of at the moment.
-
That...makes a lot of sense. The gruff, detached voice with less anger than Marcus. Now he just needs oddly gay sounding dialog about someone, (that is corrected in the books to more bff/little brother, but whoo boy emotions other than angry come off odd in that series' games,) to complete the feel.
-
I have two books but never got to read them. They disappear every time I get the chance.
-
I enjoyed them. I got them after I read Karen Traviss' Halo trilogy, (which is also my favorite of the Halo books that I have read,) and they are actually really good. They give a ton of characterization to the main cast. Karen's good at "the world's -blam!-ed, but we've got a job to do anyway." She also wrote the plot for GoW3, which is why it took such a 180 on quality from 2. Worth a read if you like solid, if not high brow sci fi.
-
OMG BANSHEE IS BENDER!?!?
-
-
Never gonna question him ever again. Lol.
-
oh, that's what you meant okay, now i get it.
-
Huh the more you know
-
Yeah. Makes me wish they had the characters at the tower more involved than what they are now.
-
Man, never realized thats marcus' voice! Always seemed familiar to me, just didnt know why. Ty
-
Hey! wrong game, gears of war is down the hall to the left.
-
But he's our gunsmith.
-
Oh, well then can you pick me up a gnasher than?
-
Gladly. He just needs to make them again first.
