Also, anyone who uses a sidearm for the ammo and then switches to a sniper is a pansy. Just my two cents.

You probably want them switching. You will get destroyed much quicker by a good sidearm user.
-
If you keep the sidearm, I say more power to you. But if you have to die just to switch and come back with ammo, it's just sad. I mean why not use a primary, have a nice gun fight and then grab special when it spawns like Bungie intended?
-
The game is not designed around "nice gun fights". It's built around having multiple weapon choices for multiple ranges for encounters. You have certain weapons to force or defend against offensive engagements and others for supporting/team fire. Without special, the game comes down to rock/paper/scissors where it's a matter of who uses the right primary for the right situation. If everyone uses the same primary then great. But if I have a doctrine/TLW then I could easily camp and not have to worry about you with a nirwens/scout. As it stands now, people can have a versatile load-out when complimenting their primary choice with their special, which fosters a more dynamic playing experience. On top of that, when you have certain melees much more powerful than others, it inherently gives an advantage to those classes when you remove special from the game.

Edited by The Woolldozer: 2/22/2016 7:27:25 PMYes, people that work the system to their advantage are "pansies".
-
Yeah. I do. I mean is it really that scary to have a primary gun fight? Snipers aren't meant to be your primary. That's what Bungie was tying to get across when they implemented the special ammo nerf. Duke it out. Then grab special when it spawns. Why cheat the system? Seems like something a pansy would do. But like I said. That's just my two cents.
-
No, it's not pansy to use things available to everyone to your advantage. You're preaching to the choir with thinking people should be forced to use their primaries more often. I think the sniping is outrageous too, but I'm not going to blame the player for that fact, it's Bungie's fault for not patching exploits, and not correctly addressing the secondary weapons problem. Why do we keep secondary ammo when we die? That's stupid to me. There needs to be more ammo crates, the ammo needs to go away when the player dies, and it shouldn't be shared amongst the whole team. You should have to designate one team member to sniper/shotgun. More strategy that way, less "let's all just camp and snipe the entrances since we all have secondary now".
-
Yeah, exactly, working the system is not playing the game jackass
-
It's in the game. Again, self-impose morality all you want, but people will utilize what the game provides for them. I hate when people blame the player for finding ways to win. Blame the creators if you want, but the players are just playing the game.
-
The system is to give you sniper ammo when switching from a sidearm to a sniper on death? That's what a sidearm was designed to do? Really?
-
Edited by The Woolldozer: 2/22/2016 8:42:15 PMWtf are you talking about? If you equip a sidearm, die, then switch, you will have sniper/shotgun ammo. Everyone has the capability of doing it, if you choose not to work the system because of some odd, self-imposed morality, that's your problem.
-
Edited by The Swza: 2/22/2016 9:23:19 PMSelf imposed morality? Lol as if ALL morals aren't self imposed. You also inadvertently implied that it is IMMORAL to use the special ammo exploit which only strengthens my argument. Except I refer to it as bitchassness.
get burned kid
I say again, get mad all you want, but players will find ways to win. Whine, kick, and scream all you want, but players play the game to win, not to please "The Swza".
-
I'm aware people will find ways to be pussies and I'll find ways to call them out on it. As much as I have to deal with the fraidyladies, they'll, in turn have to deal with my very objective and not at all whining posts. :)
-
It's not that big of a deal, you get what, 6 shots? You don't have a sniper for the first round and by the time you have ammo, crates have spawned. Not really using the gun, your using a mechanic of the gun to your advantage. Nothing wrong with that, but it'll be changed with the icebreaker and probably with sidearms too.
