Why add a fourth race, class, and element?
1) I think that after we defeat the House of Kings sometime in the future, the Fallen will have nothing left. But then Variks speaks out and reunites the Houses under House Judgement, and becomes the Kell of the Reef. And unlike many Kells, Variks does not use tyranny or the docking of arms. He becomes a righteous Kell like Chelchis was, long ago. I think that when Variks reunites the Fallen, some of them should become guardians and become a new playable class.
2) There are 4 worm gods: Xol, Eir, Ur, and Yul. It's obviously clear that the elemental damage types are not only used by the light. If the worm gods are bound to the powers of the darkness, perhaps each worm god has an element (since Yul is the leader, he'd probably use the new element).
3) The tricorn (destiny symbol) has 3 circular edges, and an oval going into it. My theory is that each regular circular edge represents Void, Solar, and Arc. And the oval going into the center symbolizes the fourth missing element.
New element: Cryo
Grimoire card
"Absolute Zero is the fate of the universe, and the only infinite age!"
The universe is defined by fundamental forces. The universe strives to rid itself of all energy, dispersing it ever wider. Spreading it to the point at which nothing remains, and all molecular movement stops. In the understanding of this absence of thermal energy, lies the secret of Cryo light.
About: Unlike the other 3 elements, killing an enemy with a cryo fusion rifle doesn't dissolve them. It freezes and shatters them.
Exotic sword
Name: Frost Blitzer
Ability: Slash the sword to send a bunch of small ice fragments flying through the air. This is more effective at close range. It's sort of like a shotgun on steroids.
Warlock subclass
Name: Chillbringer
Super: Blizzard's Wrath
About: Float in the air in a meditating position and summon the swirling winds of a blizzard from the sky. The blizzard swirls in a decently sized area around you, slowing down any enemies that go inside, and doing damage over time. All allies in the blizzard will receive a buff called "Strength of the Blizzard". Strength of the blizzard increases your attack, and slows down any enemy you shoot, including Ultras. If you are the one using the super, you can't move or shoot, but you are invincible during this time as well. This is a great support class.
Titan subclass
Name: Ice Ripper
Super: Ice Golem
About: Surround yourself with the ice of a glacier, and become a rampaging ice ogre-type thing. You can't shoot an eye blast, but you have drastically increased defense, and can punch the ground, like an agro'd ogre.
This subclass has Blink.
Hunter subclass
Name: Snowsurfer
Super: Blizzard Board
About: Summon a surf board made of ice, and become immune to all attacks, as they fly right through you. Hover swiftly above the ground, like the Silver Surfer. This super is great for escaping hairy situations. You also have an optional attack that instantly ends the super. Do a back-flip off of the surf board and hurl it at an enemy, freezing and shattering them. The earlier you use this attack, the faster it flies.
New playable race/class: Eliksni
Cryo subclass
Name: Marauder
Super: Cryo Net
About: Extend your 4 arms, creating a wall of Cryo energy in front of you. This freezes enemy attacks, and you can send them all back at once, flying at your enemies. This attack ends the super. If you do not release the frozen projectiles by the time the super runs out, they simply fall to the ground in front of you, frozen.
Void subclass
Name: Archon
Super: Void Servitor
About: Summon a servitor made out of Void energy. It fires a lot more rapidly than a regular servitor, and it looks like the servitors in the Skolas fight (POE, not the terminus). Shoot it to toggle whether it stays in a certain area or follows you (it doesn't take damage from your attacks, only enemy attacks).
Solar subclass
Name: Flashburster
Super: Sunburst
About: Raise your arms in the air and create a flash of bright light, blinding all enemies within a decently large radius for an extended period of time.
This subclass has Blink.
Arc subclass
Name: Crusader
Super: Swordwave
About: Create 4 Arc swords. Slash these swords to create crescent-shaped waves of Arc energy that fly through the air. Although this sounds superior to the hunter's Arc Blade in every way, it's not. Swordwave does not give you an armor boost or allow you to fly through the air. For those of you who play Warframe, it's pretty much the same thing as the Exalted Blade ability for Excalibur.
Class item: Eliksni Banner
Misc: Since the Cryo element is white, the Court of Oryx shields would be changed from white to green. This would actually make more sense, because the Hive use a lot of green energy.
Edit 1: Don't worry about this "replacing" new content. I never said it would. I agree that new content should be added in addition to these subclasses. And I never said this would be next either. This is a suggestion for any time between now and year 10. The reason why this post is so early is because Bungie already has a plan for what's next. I make suggestions for the far future to allow Bungie to have enough time to implement them.

Yes to most but a couple of things And the Guardian fallen would have to be dead in order for it to receive a ghost meaning they had died while fighting a guardian or other races
