Hello, hope you like the title. Cool it fan boys, it's not what you think ;)
So I downloaded the division beta and played it for a bit. It's not a bad game just generic and basic. Don't get me wrong, I like this game a lot. Cool open world game play and a bit of sweet guns. There's a lot to do and the pvp seems pretty cool.
In no way will the division kill destiny. You are sadly mistaken for even thinking that. Yes, the division is very cool and has similar aspects to destiny. Although it is hard to compare fps to tps, the question will arise. The rpg aspect is there in this game. The grind for good gear is here in a new form. There seems like there will be many more missions than destiny but not to sure about replayability.
So what does the destiny community think? I left out a lot of opinions and comparisons because I don't feel like typing that much haha it would be a lot. So throw your thoughts in those comments .
What I want to know is can the division brew addiction in game play as destiny did? Can the division pvp get as sweaty as crucible? Will a bunch of nerds get offended by this post? Find out next week on an all new episode of DragonBall Z.
Edit: Many people in the community are misinterpreting this post. I'm not saying destiny is dead at all. Please read the whole post before you post something stupid. I'm not quitting destiny, don't think I will for a long time. If you get upset I'm sorry you've just fallen to title bait. To all the people that read this, kudos your smarter than the average bear :)

Played the Alpha, played the Closed Beta, and I've played the Open Beta.I've been keeping up with the game since it has (literally) been announced. I have proof if you don't believe me about playing it all three times. -Reasons why I'm not buying it for a while- There is no story to the game. Well, there actually is, but it's nothing short of unoriginal. Virus kills people, now the protagonist must save people and fight enemies. Cool. It's an MMORPG. Look, I loved it at first, and I love MMORPGs. But, if you look at Fallout (which is absolutely different, indeed), it's an RPG where you can sometimes unload tons of ammo into an enemy and come out with little difference, yet it doesn't try to be realistic. In The Division, it tries to be as realistic as possible, yet I've even unloaded tens of full shotgun mags into a regular enemy's face. Not even a boss. I know. Downgrade, downgrade, downgrade. You're really nailing it, Ubisoft. Show us a spectacular Snowdrop engine in action, and drop most of the special qualities it displayed. In 2013, it looked incredible. 2016, and look at it now. Downgrade massacre. It's Ubisoft, FFS Enough said.
Ubisoft has made some awesome games, but the developer support will fail, just like Destiny after a while.
I'll probably end up getting it, but I have veeryy low expectations for it at the moment.

Downloaded the beta Watched a stupid tutorial video, strike one Forced to create a Ubisoft account, that's 2 Finally got to create character and everything was in French after I picked English Strike 3, uninstalled the beta and will not buy the game On another note Zelda twilight princess hd will "kill" destiny for me for a little while. Looking forward to that more than any other game at the moment, Nintendo puts out the best games no matter how bad their sales may be.

The shoot and cover seems solid but not special.... don't see the depth being there to sustain it very long
-
I just played the beta. I don't even know if I'll buy it. It seems ok but kind of generic. I know it's only the beta but I don't think it will take away a lot of Destiny players.

I played the division beta for about 8 hours yesterday. It was a great game, but it's hard to compare. Destiny is a fps first, rpg second, anyone whose played destiny and hasn't found that out needs to play a real rpg. The division on the other hand is clearly going to be rpg first and shooter second. This scratches a particular itch that I'm sure other people have that can be consoled only by games like fallout. Now as far as "sweaties" go, no the DZ isn't going to get nearly as bad as the crucible. I don't feel like there is a competitive prospective to it, just a drive for loot with a chance for malice. Therefore what we get in the end is two games that aren't only in the same genre based on a real stretch, so it's down to person preference. Oh and how tired you are of destiny. TL;DR: Destiny=shooter first, rpg third The division= rpg first, shooter second PvP's= not even close to comparable.

The Division is a constant grind against the same basic human enemies. It's has all the same issues Destiny does but with even less variety and the ability to lose of your gear to griefing players. Yeah you have fun with that
-
Nothing will kill any game except the developers themselves

Where the -blam!- is universal remote?
-
I remember old skool toonami.

See you next Tuesday :)

I'm scared to play Destiny again because I know it will hurt me again with the dumb crap added to it. I work too hard to get something and making the journey boring doesn't make it easier BUNGIE
-
The fact that people are comparing a Beta to Destiny is already a bad sign for Destiny..

Edited by Dona: 2/20/2016 4:39:00 AMI am a day one player and I love destiny so much that I dedicated most of my time playing it.. And now I can honestly say that I finnaly hit that wall...... I can finnaly say that I've just had with destiny..my love and dedication has finnaly worn out and my interest lvl has subsided, even the the old raids coming back doesn't even excite me. Bungie just waited too long to keep me happy.

-

GARDEN WARFARE 2 WILL KILL DESTINY AND EVERY OTHER GAME

Division pvp will be way more intense, knowing it's random and you can lose gear, xp and money. So awesome. The games are completely different tailoring to a separate crowd. Division is more rpg and tactics and customization, destiny is run and gun simple aliens, bright colors. I'm excited for the high customization of skill trees and abilities. The gun customization alone in divisions beta is awesome. Where one might draw similarities between the two, they cater to very different play styles. I personally miss the tactics of ghost recon, seal, rainbow six over the new cod, halo run and gun mob fest.

I heard rumor that the dlcs will be all new areas in the division. Like brooklyn and new jersey. I hope the story is more in depth besides upgrading your base of operations

Edited by The Brostradamus: 2/20/2016 3:54:57 PMBefore the Division beta... "Destiny is dead as -blam!-! Suck it nerds, your game that's a year and a half old is finally gonna die!" After... "The Division isn't THAT bad. It's still kinda fun." Lol. Add it to the list of 20 other games this community were idiots about. *ahem* Fallout 4 *ahem*
-
Can't one just play both? ...or did I miss an announcement...
-
They are similar but different in feel. It won't kill destiny but it will still deplete the player the base. Attack division if you will but there it is a well functioning game and we haven't seen all it has to offer as opposed to having done it all on destiny. Until level cap is raised and real new pve offered division will have its shot and time will tell.
-
Division is meh... And that has nothing to do with destiny.
-
Division isn't that great at all

Ubisoft.
