I main Sunsinger, I've recently thought about making a Titan, I play Mostly Crucible (95% of the time) and I was wondering which would be more effective, I'm leaning more towards Striker (I've got an Exotic Helmet specified for the Sub Class. but Hammer of Sol seems like a great choice as well. Opinions everyone? (I added a poll for more blunt results, but please feel free to leave an explanation)

From a beta Titan Striker is very strong and requires an up close playstyle (TLW Shotguns) Sunbreaker gives you more versatility as it works well with many play styles, (My main I run it with No Land mostly) Defender has an amazing neutral game, It's also very versatile in play styles but takes a little time to get use to
-
I prefer Striker for fun, but Sunbreaker is more versatile and does more damage. FoH can barely break a Reaver Captain's shield.
-
Hammers require a lot more precise aim after the nerf, but it's still a fun sub-class.
-
Defender is the best Titan class for Crucible, if you're a decent player. If you're garbage, use Striker. It's the easy mode Titan subclass.
-
If you give it some time, defender can be a BEAST in crucible (especially with suppression grenades). I'd recommend Striker as it is easier to use, plus it will help you learn how Titans feel. Sunbreaker is great but people get impatient as the hammers are a bit harder to control.

Bubble buddy

Is this even a question? Obviously Defender XD
-
Striker is just overall better. Much better neutral game with one of the best grenades (if not THE best) in the game, shoulder charge, and capable of max armor. Striker also has a much more consistent super although it won't average as many kills. Until they do something about the state of Sunbreaker the choice is Obvious. Striker for pvp. Defender for pve (and sometimes pvp for the advanced titans). That's how it's been since the dawn of time.
-
I played both yesterday and did better with my sunbreaker.
-
How about Bubble? Very effective in Control.
-
Hammer never Been a fan of striker
-
Striker is definetely more user friendly. Sunbreaker is bettee if you know how to use it though
-
Only used on the quest bit and i only use super to anti supers
-
It depends on the gametype. For smaller team games, especially elimination striker seems powerful and is a great way to end someone's self res. I personally still play Sunbreaker in rift and clash and get four people supers all the time. It is a lot harder to nail those hammers but still manageable. Control and rarely tumble are where I put on the backup plans and go to town with defender. People will give you easy kills and it is so fun to watch your grenade tick for one damage yet shut down a Stormcaller, bladedancer, or gunslinger super trying to -blam!- with you and your bubble.

Defender

Striker. Hos use to be great before they killed it. I don't even use that subclass for anything anymore

Sunbreaker deserved a nerf. I main a Titan and I agree that is was absolutely broken. But it was hit wayyy too hard. Some direct hits with hammers only take away a portion of health, the blast radius may as well be nonexistent, and the already shitty tracking was made even shittier. Stick with Striker (although Shoulder Charge doesn't work 90% of the time).

I like both classes very much, but I think I have a slight preference for the 'Breaker.

Edited by HiddenWarrior: 2/18/2016 4:30:56 PMHammers are trash now. I've hit so many people dead on, like square between the eyes and seen them take like 6 damage. Aside from that it's so easy to dodge and run away from. Don't even get started on a super to super encounter. Literally every other super in the game aside from Gunslinger can tank a direct hammer to the face when they do decide to do damage and then proceed to kill you before you can throw another hammer. As for Suncharge, for me at least it's way too inconsistent. I've had charges where I stopped right next to an enemy instead of magnetizing to them, and the enemy just shotguns me down. It also has a terrible neutral game unless you absolutely love Fusion Grenades. As much as it pains me to say it, it's legitimately broken right now in the bad way. Striker is far more consistent, both in terms of super and neutral game.
-
Try both, most people will say striker and I won't disagree but I think sunbreaker is really fun too. Whatever you choose, getting armamentarium exotic chest piece is a priority. Titans have strong grenades, having double grenades plus extra special or heavy ammo it's not weapon specific is awesome.

Edited by xKCz: 2/18/2016 9:42:06 AMBoth are decent. Both worth using Helm of inmost light is a fun exotic though, so I'd use striker for that alone. :)

I use Suncharge on HoS and that's much more effective than throwing hammers
-
I made a tier 5 discipline build and used simmering flames and it is awesome in elimin or trials. Throw incendiary grenades every 12.5s. I rarely use super
