Please explain your answer Note : Also check out this reddit post, its another experiment done with Grimoire NOTE : GHOST GIVE 760 NOTE : CALCIFIED FRAGMENTS GIVE 310 If a person has more experience they tend to have more skill. I am not saying all low Grimoire score players are bad, I am not saying all high Grimoire score players are good. But majority of the high Grimoire score players are good, and majority of the low Grimoire score players are not good. Think about it, there are a lot of people with low Grimoire scores, some this might be there first FPS, some might be extreme casuals, some just don't care. But people with high Grimoire score play the game a lot, they care about the game and spend a lot of time on it. Let me give you an example. I have been doing this for the past weeks and it has worked out for me. When I am looking for a raid group I would go to LFG and post something similar to this.-
Need people for a fast raid run. Only requirement I have is must have a 4600+ Grimoire score
And I posted this morning -
Looking for 5 players to do 2 fast runs. Only requirement is to have a 4600+ Grimoire and have enough time to run it more than once. 1 run should take 50mins.
The people who met the requirements had no problem messaging there Grimoire score, but others got so mad, they called me a "grimoire scub", "fu.cking retarded", and more stuff. Some people can't read at all and posted their light level. I didn't care about light level at all. It happened every week I've done this. It was really ridiculous. Do you want to know the time for all 3 of my runs? 54m 27s - http://destinytracker.com/dg/4662858649 (Warlock) 1h 4m 53s - http://destinytracker.com/dg/4663058534 (Titan) 51m 39s - http://destinytracker.com/dg/4663230540 (Hunter) All of these runs went smoothly, becasue of that one requirement. If I would've had a light level requirement there is no telling what will happen, majority of the time it just goes bad. It is so easy to get carried to 315 and it is so easy just to get there without trying. Grimoire score shows more skill then a light level. So please don't message me on LFG if you don't meet my requirements and don't say "add me" if you don't meet them either. It's my fireteam, if you don't meet the requirements then you can't join so don't rage at me. Do you rage at someone asking for 315+ light level when you are 313? Do you rage at someone asking for Black Spindle, when you don't have the gun yet? Now let tell you what actually goes into a Grimoire score, and its not just dead ghost - Your grimoire score will increase if you : Get Crucible kills on Warlock, Hunter and Titan Get PvE kills on Warlock, Hunter, and Titan Played during the House of Wolfs days, when fallen attacked on patrol Killed certain bosses in PvE Killing an amount of certain enemies in PvE Get weapon kills with all types of weapons, not just a shotgun and hand cannon ;p Playing multiply PvP modes and winning at them, not just control and iron banner. Playing maps in Crucible for the first time. Playing events in the game, Finding ghost/frags exploring the game. All these will increase your Grimoire score, becasue it gives you a feel for the game, you are playing the game while doing this. Yes this might be like other FPS games but it still plays a bit different. Yes some people have an awesome FPS background and are already amazing in PvP. Someone who has been playing longer would know more. There are some prodigies in the world but not a lot, it takes time to get good. Remember in Elementary school when your teachers would always say practice makes perfect, it actually works a lot of the time but not all the time. PvP Skill section of the tread - When I look for a trails group on LFG I always say have a 1.3 KD or higher because my KD is 1.3. I do not base PvP skills off grimoire, because lots of people have a FPS background and are good.

  • In my experience not all low grimoire score holders are bad. But most if not all high grimoire score holders are pretty good if not beast at this game. PvE and PvP alike.

  • That is a high number and only determines half there skill,I only look at it in crucible meaning if I'm in a match and other team is around 4200 I know they are most likely a year one and played often, if they are a team around 3200 I change my playstyle knowing they haven't put much time in learning all game mechanics and kill them with my sidearm lol

    • Experience doesn't mean skill. Some people can just be shit for longer than others.

    • I really feel it would be a fantastic indicator of experience and could give you an idea of someone's skill, but then there's ghosts. I can't remember exactly what I found out they're worth, but I remember t was between 300-500. So that means if I was 4100-4300, but I never farmed the ghosts, I wouldn't be let into your group, but if I had, I would be allowed to raid with you. Same me, only difference is if I farmed the ghosts. It's kind of a dilemma.

        • I always avoid players like you that post "quick" or "fast" run. It gives people the mentality that you are not fully committed or will quit when something takes a couple tries. I don't like you.

        • I would say being over 4100 means you've played year one destiny and are on the more experienced side. I've never really cared about grimoire as much but I got above 4200, I started on the later half of vanilla.

Nah. I don't really raid and have done zero ToO and have a pretty high g-score. It's really just a metric to show whether someone plays the game a lot.

        • yes and no, Someone with high grimoire pretty much always knows what theyre doing and can hold their own. But that doesnt mean someone with a low grimoire cant. Ive seen many players that have low grimoire and crush it in the crucible

          • I get what you are saying and if that's what you want your requirement to be then so be it good for you. However i do think 4600 is a little high and you get people that get upset because of that, mine is 4500, I've been playing since beta and have completed every facet of this game. I just didn't want to put the one in running around doing stuff that I don't enjoy doing in the game so I haven't done it.

          • I have some problems with it. There is some cases where, for e.g; I'm gonna be starting destiny in ps4 soon, after I've been on xbox one since beta, my grimoire right now is 4790 but when I start on ps4, I'll start at 0, once I get to 315 or so, I'll probably only have around 2000 grimoire, if I am bothered to look for ghosts etc, which I doubt I will. I've done kf multiple times and been flawless hella of a lot of times, but my grimoire will suck, but my skill won't... You understand where I'm coming from? But yes, grimoire is the best measurement of "skill" without in-game stats.

          • To prove that grimoire takes no skill whatsoever, I decided to hunt down every ghost in the game today. I started off the day with a grimoire score of 3900. I'm currently at 4360, but I'll be over 4500 when I'm done (had to stop playing for the day and get some work done). So in a matter of maybe 4 hours of playing, I raised my grimoire by almost 500 points without using any skill whatsoever, just YouTube and a little bit of jumping. All grimoire is is an indicator of accomplishing different things in the game, it has 0% bearing on the skill level of a player.

            • While it doesn't correlate to a "skill level" it does imply that you have a certain skill set.

            • I think it only really matters if someone is complaining about the game and want changes to fit them. If you got below 3000 grim. You need to experience more of the game before asking for changes.

            • Basically I assume people with low grimoire aren't very good, but don't assume people with high grimoire are good. More experienced yes, but collecting ghosts doesn't mean you're hitting headshots in crucible

            • I tested this out my making a high grimoire only fire team. We did the kingsfallhm raid in under 55 minutes. The PvE skills are true since in PvE experience triumphs. And PvP is going up against real players and not AI, so people can never play PvE (Which has most of the grimoire) but still be skilled at PvP and never have a high grimoire. ~TheGreatNike

              • No. While grimoire score shows dedication to the game, there is no real correlation. Finding ghosts is an entirely different activity than being able to run relics/being torn. While yes, usually those who have dedication enough to find ghosts throughout the planets/fragments throughout the dreadnought, dedication does not equal competence. Let me say that again: Dedication =\= competence Bless up.
