NOTE : GHOST GIVE 760
NOTE : CALCIFIED FRAGMENTS GIVE 310
If a person has more experience they tend to have more skill.

I am not saying all low Grimoire score players are bad, I am not saying all high Grimoire score players are good. But majority of the high Grimoire score players are good, and majority of the low Grimoire score players are not good. Think about it, there are a lot of people with low Grimoire scores, some this might be there first FPS, some might be extreme casuals, some just don't care. But people with high Grimoire score play the game a lot, they care about the game and spend a lot of time on it.
Let me give you an example. I have been doing this for the past weeks and it has worked out for me. When I am looking for a raid group I would go to LFG and post something similar to this.-
Need people for a fast raid run. Only requirement I have is must have a 4600+ Grimoire score
And I posted this morning -
Looking for 5 players to do 2 fast runs. Only requirement is to have a 4600+ Grimoire and have enough time to run it more than once. 1 run should take 50mins.
The people who met the requirements had no problem messaging there Grimoire score, but others got so mad, they called me a "grimoire scub", "fu.cking retarded", and more stuff. Some people can't read at all and posted their light level. I didn't care about light level at all. It happened every week I've done this. It was really ridiculous.
Do you want to know the time for all 3 of my runs?
54m 27s - http://destinytracker.com/dg/4662858649 (Warlock)
1h 4m 53s - http://destinytracker.com/dg/4663058534 (Titan)
51m 39s - http://destinytracker.com/dg/4663230540 (Hunter)
All of these runs went smoothly, becasue of that one requirement. If I would've had a light level requirement there is no telling what will happen, majority of the time it just goes bad. It is so easy to get carried to 315 and it is so easy just to get there without trying. Grimoire score shows more skill then a light level. So please don't message me on LFG if you don't meet my requirements and don't say "add me" if you don't meet them either.
It's my fireteam, if you don't meet the requirements then you can't join so don't rage at me. Do you rage at someone asking for 315+ light level when you are 313? Do you rage at someone asking for Black Spindle, when you don't have the gun yet?
Now let tell you what actually goes into a Grimoire score, and its not just dead ghost -
Your grimoire score will increase if you :
Get Crucible kills on Warlock, Hunter and Titan
Get PvE kills on Warlock, Hunter, and Titan
Played during the House of Wolfs days, when fallen attacked on patrol
Killed certain bosses in PvE
Killing an amount of certain enemies in PvE
Get weapon kills with all types of weapons, not just a shotgun and hand cannon ;p
Playing multiply PvP modes and winning at them, not just control and iron banner.
Playing maps in Crucible for the first time.
Playing events in the game,
Finding ghost/frags exploring the game.
All these will increase your Grimoire score, becasue it gives you a feel for the game, you are playing the game while doing this. Yes this might be like other FPS games but it still plays a bit different. Yes some people have an awesome FPS background and are already amazing in PvP.
Someone who has been playing longer would know more. There are some prodigies in the world but not a lot, it takes time to get good. Remember in Elementary school when your teachers would always say practice makes perfect, it actually works a lot of the time but not all the time.
PvP Skill section of the tread -
When I look for a trails group on LFG I always say have a 1.3 KD or higher because my KD is 1.3. I do not base PvP skills off grimoire, because lots of people have a FPS background and are good.

Your overall grimoire score doesn't equate to skill but some grimoire score does like number of wins in a certain crucible type, raid completions, and kills with each class. Of course picking up a dead ghost takes no skill but having a really high score shows some dedication and maybe a little more knowledge of details in the game.
-
Idk compare my grimoire to my stats and then you tell me. I'm definitely not the best but I'm damn better than a ton of people with much higher grimoire than me.
-
Tldr. But it doesn't. Grim is for those dedicated to the whole experience. Skill is exactly it's namesake.
-
No. Only way to determine skill is to face someone in battle. No other numbers, stats, or fractions matter.
-
So you would take a 275 light level with lets say a 4650 Grimoire over a 320 light level with a 4000? Too good.
-
60% of the time
-
Grimoire does not equal skill. Grimoire only dictates a person who has found some things by exploring destiny and doing some activities. Somebody with the highest score can be horrible at the game, and vice versa. Who ever thinks Grimoire score equates to skill should just stop playing destiny.
-
Grimoire = dedication to grinding.
-
Grimoire equals dedication to the game not skill I believe. I switched over to Xbox one since October and now I'm at 3200 grimoire and on my ps4 I have 2500 believe but that Is because I gave up on Destiny few months ago. Now I'm grinding whenever I can.
-
I'd say people with high grimoire are more likely to be skilled in this game than people with a lower score. It's not guaranteed though. I've been destroyed in PVP by people with far lower grimoire than me.
-
I have 4760 grimoire, and am very good at raiding. But don't bring me into trials. I'll just bring you down. Skill? Yes. But I only have a particular set of skills. Lol.
-
That's, not a bad idea. I'm going to have to do this from now on.
-
I would say about 50 50..when I see a 2400 score on a raid..I know I'm gonna have a bad time..that's actually about 100% of the time..but for crusible I have learned not to judge so fast..I have seen people that only play crusible with low score..they are hard but can still beat them
-
Too many variables for this question...if a dude beat skolas a million times in year 1, is he skilled? Yes in a sense but does that skill transition to strikes, raids, or crucible? Maybe, maybe not. If a guy has every crucible grimoire is he skilled? In pvp perhaps but how will he do in a raid? Who knows. The only one way to find out if a person is good is to play with them.. never judge a book by its cover so the saying goes.
-
More like 30% of the time
-
It just shows how long the person has been playing, my opinion anyway,
-
It shows knowledge and experience in and of the game.
-
One long essay just to admit you are a ghostbuster.
-
TL;DR but if your Grimoire is below 3.9k i dont trust you im my FT. You just have to prove yourself.
-
If you look up ghosts on YouTube and find them in Patrol you are not good
-
Funny. If you had posted this in year 1 the results would be reversed.
-
Yes, yes it does. That said a low score does NOT mean you're less skilled. There is just more scrubs in the salt pond to pick up below 4500 so the players who are great and don't care are grouped in as bad. You won't find bad players over 4600 that's just the way it is.
-
It shows how much time you've put into the game.
-
Edited by maximusau: 2/20/2016 7:28:41 PMIt really depends, but a high Grimore does equal experience and knowing the game, having decent weapons etc. My score is 4730, I am not very good a kings fall at all. I have completed it, on hard and normal but that's it. All I did was pve, chase down bosses etc. I made it my Friday to get to Xur and get weapons. I am just working on my PvP Grimore now.
-
Grimoire does not equal skill. I have a Grimoire score of 4300+. Why? Because I hunted down each and every dead ghost in the game, found 48 of 50 Calcified fragments, have played since Day 1 and have tried PvP to a small degree. Your raid runs went well because everyone on your fireteam knew what they were doing, not because they had a 4600+ Grimoire score.
-
All you do is kill a single thing, discover stuff, and you earn grimoire. That doesn't not account for the skillz
