NOTE : GHOST GIVE 760
NOTE : CALCIFIED FRAGMENTS GIVE 310
If a person has more experience they tend to have more skill.

I am not saying all low Grimoire score players are bad, I am not saying all high Grimoire score players are good. But majority of the high Grimoire score players are good, and majority of the low Grimoire score players are not good. Think about it, there are a lot of people with low Grimoire scores, some this might be there first FPS, some might be extreme casuals, some just don't care. But people with high Grimoire score play the game a lot, they care about the game and spend a lot of time on it.
Let me give you an example. I have been doing this for the past weeks and it has worked out for me. When I am looking for a raid group I would go to LFG and post something similar to this.-
Need people for a fast raid run. Only requirement I have is must have a 4600+ Grimoire score
And I posted this morning -
Looking for 5 players to do 2 fast runs. Only requirement is to have a 4600+ Grimoire and have enough time to run it more than once. 1 run should take 50mins.
The people who met the requirements had no problem messaging there Grimoire score, but others got so mad, they called me a "grimoire scub", "fu.cking retarded", and more stuff. Some people can't read at all and posted their light level. I didn't care about light level at all. It happened every week I've done this. It was really ridiculous.
Do you want to know the time for all 3 of my runs?
54m 27s - http://destinytracker.com/dg/4662858649 (Warlock)
1h 4m 53s - http://destinytracker.com/dg/4663058534 (Titan)
51m 39s - http://destinytracker.com/dg/4663230540 (Hunter)
All of these runs went smoothly, becasue of that one requirement. If I would've had a light level requirement there is no telling what will happen, majority of the time it just goes bad. It is so easy to get carried to 315 and it is so easy just to get there without trying. Grimoire score shows more skill then a light level. So please don't message me on LFG if you don't meet my requirements and don't say "add me" if you don't meet them either.
It's my fireteam, if you don't meet the requirements then you can't join so don't rage at me. Do you rage at someone asking for 315+ light level when you are 313? Do you rage at someone asking for Black Spindle, when you don't have the gun yet?
Now let tell you what actually goes into a Grimoire score, and its not just dead ghost -
Your grimoire score will increase if you :
Get Crucible kills on Warlock, Hunter and Titan
Get PvE kills on Warlock, Hunter, and Titan
Played during the House of Wolfs days, when fallen attacked on patrol
Killed certain bosses in PvE
Killing an amount of certain enemies in PvE
Get weapon kills with all types of weapons, not just a shotgun and hand cannon ;p
Playing multiply PvP modes and winning at them, not just control and iron banner.
Playing maps in Crucible for the first time.
Playing events in the game,
Finding ghost/frags exploring the game.
All these will increase your Grimoire score, becasue it gives you a feel for the game, you are playing the game while doing this. Yes this might be like other FPS games but it still plays a bit different. Yes some people have an awesome FPS background and are already amazing in PvP.
Someone who has been playing longer would know more. There are some prodigies in the world but not a lot, it takes time to get good. Remember in Elementary school when your teachers would always say practice makes perfect, it actually works a lot of the time but not all the time.
PvP Skill section of the tread -
When I look for a trails group on LFG I always say have a 1.3 KD or higher because my KD is 1.3. I do not base PvP skills off grimoire, because lots of people have a FPS background and are good.
-
I'd say grimiore is just experience within the different aspects of the game overall (PvE kills, weapon gear, ghosts, etc) not skill
-
As someone who has a lot of grimoire score, I gotta say, No, it doesn't. A lot of points, roughly 1000, comes from lost ghosts, events and calcified fragments. A lot of that is just when you played the game and looking up guides online.
-
My grim isn't high ._. But everyone I've played CD with was usually on the bottom (my teammates) ._. Not all of us are bad not all of us are good :3 same for Higher grim players <3
-
I have a 4480 grimoire and I've invested a lot of time in this game. However I don't look at YouTube videos for locations of various ghosts. I'm sure I would meet your requirement if I did, but frankly I just don't want to do it. Wandering on patrol looking at my computer and at my tv to find ghosts is uninteresting and not what I want to do. Whenever I go on patrol its to practice my sniping skills.

Mine's 4665 even though I didn't play at all between 1/25/15 and 10/16/15, thus making a lot of the HoW stuff is almost unattainable. My skill level is TryEasy/ Scrub in both PVE & PVP. The things that I'm missing (outside of the HoW stuff) probably tells a better story, as it's stuff like Raids Introduction (only 16), Rumble (1), Skirmish (54), Salvage (48), and Doubles (28...was 0 before CD). My suckage at Rumble and the fact that I tend to stay away from 3v3 modes definitely points towards a lack of skill in PVP (but, someone could be great at PVP and still not care about every single one of the modes...). I also don't have Necrochasm or Vex, which would mean I didn't HM VoG or Crota enough (or just had horrible RNG luck). I don't have Osiris or The Lighthouse, so it's clear that I've never went flawless in Trials. And I'm missing two of the regular King's Fall raid calcified fragments and the Oryx Challenge one, so you can tell I have zero experience at the Oryx Challenge and haven't done the complete raid that many times. So, Grimoire doesn't necessarily equate to skill...but looking at it in depth can give at least some insights into what a player has experience with...

Grimoire = accountability
-
Anyone asking for grimoire requirements just gets an immediate mute from me.
-
I have max grimoire I can assure you that it took 0% skill
-
Seems your poll backfired on you a little.....
-
PvE skill, not pvp
-
Nope. I'm a day 1 casual and would call myself above average. Not the best, but definitely better than a good handful of people I've come into contact with. I base this off DPS, kills per raid/strike, and K/Dr. My grimoire is extremely low compared to basically all day 1 players but I am limited on play time with a demanding job and other life stuff. Never had time to collect ghosts and all that other stuff.
-
Sorry, man. Grimoire is not skill. It's stubborn determination. X-thousand kill's of a specific enemy for 15 points? That's not skill. 15 points for 50 raid completions? Not skill. It is a reflection of experience.
-
Not skill, but it does say that they are really into destiny to go collect all the ghosts etc so they probably aren't casual players. So it does say something about them. But still I vote no.
-
It shows experience not skill
-
Grimoire=DETERMINATION Grimiore=Experience K/D=Luck or Skill Medal Score=master of assists and getting back into the fight. Medal score=ninja of light or creative merc! ELO=Luck Raid completions=how much fun you have or how bored you are.
-
Gremoire is time put into the game
-
High grimoire just means time that's it
-
No highest grim score just means that you were either interested in the backstory to the game or you just felt like grinding it out and hunting for the ghost
-
Some of the grimoire such as salvage and skirmish wins take time and can't be done if your bad IMO. Sure you can grab like 4500 worth of ghosts but the top tier grimoire score players (say 4800+) are usually pretty good I've experienced. When I enter a PvP lobby its not opponents weapons I'm checking - It's their grimoire score. For me personally that tells me all I need to know. In conclusion I agree - 95% of the time someone with high grimoire score is going to be a decent player in my opinion.
-
90% of grimore is finding ghosts and killing X ogres or whatever. Yeah, skilful.
-
Edited by LordofChaos: 2/17/2016 1:07:07 AMHaving more experience does not ever equate to more skill. You can get all the grim score in the game and yet still suck very badly at certain parts of the game. Grim does not equal skill it just equals time played and kills/monsters farmed with different weapons and toons. have all the book experience and knowledge about making a car does not make you a skilled mechanic a skilled mechanic knows how to adapt to the situation at had when needed, a learned or experienced mechanic only knows how to do what the books said.
-
It plays a part in my opinion. I found most of the dead ghosts because I actually care about the story. And we all know that there isn't much of a story in-game. If I see someone that has high grimore, that should mean that they've been playing for a while and that they are interested in the game's story. It shows experience. A person with 2800 grimore, probably isn't going to be as experienced as someone with 4700.
-
Grimoire isn't really too important. A lot if it is from things such as Ghost hunting, just going to a new location, or just getting a weapon. Only sometimes is it relevant, as you can up your score if you go Flawless, kill a specific boss, it complete a Raid. But I do not think it matters.
-
Grimoire isn't related to skill, but it can be used as a good way to get an idea of how good a player is. More often than not, the players with higher Grimoire are better because to get that high score takes dedication to the game and shows that they have, in all likelihood, spent more time and have completed more endgame activities. Of course, there will also be people that have an interest in the backstory and those who want a high score for the sake of having a high score, both of these types of players could be entirely awful; you don't know until you play with them.
-
3700 grimoire I do believe, 314 light. Not too shabby but grimoire is low cause I never went ghost hunting.

4835 here and i'm a scrub
