Hawkmoon is great it rewards a skilled hand for sure. Try pacing your shots out make sure there lined up before shooting, dont spam the trigger whatsoever.

The problem is, pacing shots means increasing TTK. You can shoot a good legendary HC at max RoF and land all shots and kill much faster than Hawkmoon from better range more reliably.
