i find it hilarious when i see all these posts b*tching about how terrible hawkmoon is. i have a 307 hawkmoon on my hunter and i have ZERO problems with it. so what's the problem?

It's the fact that handcannons, all of them, have an rng cone that replaces headshot skill with luck. The further the shot, the larger the cone. I'm sure you are aware of this mechanic when you KNOW you had it dead on a headshot but either missed or became a body shot that led to your demise when your opponent's pulse or auto gun out performed you.
-
So what you are saying is that they perform well in thier intended range.
-
What I'm saying is that they are supposed to reward a steady hand, not a rng bullet.
-
You don't know how it used to be.
-
i do know how it used to be. but i mainly wanted it because of how it looks.
-
Use a decent Eyasluna or Finnala's peril for a few games and you'll never go back.
-
i've never got the eyasluna, and i have only used my finnala's peril enough times to know i prefer hawkmoon over it. so finnala sits in my vault unused.
-
Or The First Curse. Because that Range is insane.
-
i own the first curse. don't care for it much. it's either in my vault or it's been dismantled.
-
So we have multiple options of guns besides just the Hawkmoon that people like to use and you guys want to make Hawkmoon better so that you can stick to just one? Have I got that about right?
-
You're missing the point, this particular guns' hit detection is off even at close range. The gun is broken right now.
-
I've got a 314 lol and no probs either, everyone's just jealous lol
-
If you had a chance to use it before the Taken King you'd know...
-
i got hawkmoon my first nightfall before the taken king dropped, before all the b*tch bags started to nerf everything. i had no problems then, and i still have no problems with it.
-
Yeah, I have no issues with my Hawkmoon. Best HC in the game from mid-range imo.
-
I know the problem!¡
You can aim and he can't
-
aiming is such a glorious way to kill people. everyone should try it, instead of hiding behind their sh*t snipers.
-
I know right. Rangefinder shotgun for the win
-
The problem is that it is worse than the legendaries. Eyasluna can do what it does, but better (consistency-wise). It took an unnecessary Range nerf that affected way more than just its effective range. It altered he accuracy of it. Taking away prominent headshots was definitely fine because luck in gun fights ideally SHOULD be minimalized. But not the range, or heck, even Ag Bal.
-
i don't see how it's worse than legendaries. i've had plenty of legendary hand cannons that are easily beat by my hawkmoon. so again, i don't see what the problem is.
-
The only legendaries it beats are those with the highest impact rating. And I believe that archetype is specific to year one (maybe, but not certain). Otherwise every other legendary with a semi-decent roll will out perform it. Hawkmoon CAN two shot, but the occasions are so much more rare than a regular LitC Eyasluna Archetype. But ultimately, it's up to you as to what you prefer. Many prefer the legendaries over Hawkmoon for performance purposes as well as the ability to use another Exotic.

I honestly think it's not a problem, but people that are used to it don't want to adapt to the changes on it, you know? Like we are used to it being effective as to how we used it in y1 and now in y2 it doesn't work the same. For me, I just try to get in legit HC range, we can't shoot across the map as effectively like we could in y1. So the closer the better >:)
-
Cool if that works for you.
-
Back in the days when hawkmoon was ps exclusive, it was a million times better. If you knew it back then, you'd be disappointed of the current state it is in.
-
I got it from the poe chest in year one. Yeah it was better year one but is was also more or less the best scout rifle in year one. The range nerf was a very good thing on all hand cannons. The accuracy nerf and wonky cone bloom shit is -blam!-in stupid however. Let's take a gun that is supposed to reward accurate gun play and -blam!- up its accuracy. Come on seriously. And the reserve ammo nerf is stupid as well. How the hell we supposed to pve when we keep running dry?
