Hello and welcome Guardians, this is your friendly neighborhood AnonPig and I'm here sadly to say there's nothing special today, at least not with this mission. Either way enjoy a little lore on Cayde-6 and Maya Sundaresh.
Oh also Happy Eat-3-Tubs-Of-IceCream-Because-There's-No-One-Here-To-Stop-You Day!
Running the Cayde's stash mission opens up the possibility to enter a secret room, his secret stash, in which we find a Jack of Spades, Cayde informs us he leaves cards as markers for what he leaves.
Yeah, I had a whole system to keep track of things. The royal cards stood for weapons, spades meant Hakke, clubs for Crux/Lomar, diamonds for Omolon, and hearts...well, hearts were for this girl i knew.
So what does this mean exactly? Who is this mystery woman? Well the answer is simple, Maya Sundaresh. From Cayde's Journal we learn he actually worked for the Ishtar Collective after becoming an Exo and he actually loved Maya.
The Coast is different, beautiful and unbroken and timeless. It teems with new life. Every big brain in the system has their sights set on the Academy.
WE were there for the Ahamkara, parasite reptilian critters that appeared out of thin air. Inexpliciable genome, new protiens.
So much potential.
And me? I'm there for her, Dr Maya Sundaresh Shes;s poured into the research on the brink of another breakthrough, focused on devouring every new data point.
Brilliant. Driven. Beautiful.
I can see her so clearly. Dark hari spilt into smoothed shimmering strands fanning over her forehead. Gray irisies blooming as she looks up from her work to see me standing there beside her.
No. She doesnt know me at all, doesnt even recognize my face even though ive been standing over her shoulders for months. Im nothing more than a fixture, a required imposition. an unwatned nesseccisity.
Im no egghead, Never was. Just like now, ack then i was on a need-to-know bisis, and the only thing i need to know is that nothing and nobody gets through the door and past me without at least three layers of security clearance and a whole lot of muscle.
Still. I think about saying smething. Saying anything. In a second mind rifles through a trillion possibilities.
But she's already tunred back to her work. I shuffle my feet, straighten my back, and return to mine.
