No. If a console is 10 years old it shouldn't get support for what is supposed to be a leading AAA game. PlayStation has said many times that they intend for their systems to have a 10 year lifespan. Meaning they'll offer support and games through those 10 years. Well for the PS3 that means 2016 is the end. Doesn't mean you're forced to upgrade, there's still a lot of games to enjoy from last gen...you just shouldn't expect to hold back new games because you won't spend $250 on a PS4 or Xbone
