Had you asked me this roughly 5 months ago, I would have screamed yes, considering the weapon's ability to '2-shot look away'. However, the DOT damage was nerfed substantially, and the gun, while still requiring three shots to down a player, has a relatively high ROF for a hand cannon. Considering it is an exotic, and one that not many players could get their hands on, it's kind of nice to have a relatively decent competitor against MIDA Multi-Tool and The Last Word, especially this week with Crimson Doubles.
Not many players seem to flock to it anymore, but it can't be denied that the DOT, while weak, will still help you get plenty of Post-Mortem medals. Making an Elimination round a draw is better than accepting a loss.
Honestly, it's not the powerhouse it used to be, but Thorn is still a decent weapon for your primary. However, I don't see the stacking DOT winning any PvE awards any time soon, even if it gets brought over to Year 2.
