ANATOMY OF A EPIC RAID

Lets talk raids and maybe strikes, but I want to focus on raids. I touched a little on this in my post yesterday about raids being to linear or just a straight A + B = C scenario. There are many great things with the current raid of choice King's Fall but once you get the mechanics down it becomes the same thing over and over and over, hoping for weapon and/or armor drop that you want or need to get to the next light level. It has all become very mundane and raids that would take fire teams extended hours are done in an hour and then repeated with alt characters hoping to get that elusive piece of equipment and yada, yada, yada we all know the drill. First let’s make the raid more interesting and add a ton of content. Dependent how you beat a certain challenge or boss it triggers the next possible challenge or boss leading you down a possible different cascade of events & rewards. Example someone dies during a challenge or boss it hits a trigger, or the team wipes a set number of times it hits the trigger, or you beat the boss in a particular way it triggers, you only melee attack, you use only sidearm, no super used, snipers rifles only, etc, etc, etc. This does a few things. First fire teams could spend hours upon hours trying to figure out all the triggers that are possible and what they lead to. Second it gives us more content, loads and loads of content. This is a major complaint right now. Third it opens the game to wild challenges that can give amazing rewards. Lets take VOG right now. You could easily add this model to it in its current layout. The first part the spire is straight forward but dependent on the time it takes the team to get through or how many people die you alter the rewards chest pay out. Then you alter the 2 paths down to vault which then would alter the confluxes and oracles and Templar. Additional dependent on the method that is employed to beat the oracles and/or Templar it alters the reward and which path you take down to gorgons. Again dependent on how fast you make it through the gorgons, or if you have a strong enough team you destroy the gorgons and then you get a varying reward, etc gatekeeper, etc Atheon. Bungie are you getting my point? You could make VOG and Crota relevant again and even more challenging!!! Hell forget my suggested model above in the jpegs above, you probably could send us through 100+ scenarios of RAIDSincluding changes the enemies, added taken enemies, make it harder, challenge modes, oh my. I’ll giddy with excitement thinking what it could be!!! Strikes could receive the same treatment! Raids & strikes are now more epic than ever. Strikes and raids that gives content and rewards never dreamed of by us Guardians. Myself I would not have the time to play through this level of content and scenarios. Honestly you changed around enemies for strikes thinking that would be enough it hasn't and it never was a really addressing the issues and it never really added relevant content. Bungie you given us an amazing world let us help you make it great, amazing and enjoyable again. We have proven we are here for the long haul. GUARDIAN OUT!
