I've played Crimson Doubles for hours both nights that it has been available and haven't seen a single ghost shell drop for either me or my teammates.
For a game type that was marketed as a way to acquire a 320 ghost this is some real BS Bungie. What is the drop rate? 1 in 100,000? 1 in 1,000,000? What's more the level of the ghost is random and apparently tied to your character level so if you do get one to drop it will most likely drop at 300 or lower (I saw a youtube video of a player at level 314 who got a ghost at level 300).
Bungie why is it so hard for you to develop a loot system that works? Take a look at The Division - theirs is perfect.
Seriously, Bungie increase the drop rate of ghosts in Crimson Doubles. Most of your fans that are still logging in are on their last straw and this is breaking the camel's back...

Have played a bit and the rewards are poor. Makes me think the good frequency of self rewards was a mistake. Partner completed all Bounties on a character and has yet to review a ghost or something consequential. You would think they would learn. Played nightfall for fun last night, he got a 302 ghost after they said the probability would be lower and I got an emote (tantrum). Bungee please pay attention to your loot system!
