Only time a weapon becomes 'OP' is when you guys did back and pout instead of adjusting. The Thorn is annoying, yes, invincible, no.

Thorn was op and still is though less so. It's not about 'crying about a weapon' it's about trying to have a pvp game which isn't based 100% around one gun. I'm sure I'll now get the 'but I'm amazing I beat thorns all the time with my white auto' I don't care maybe you're triplewreck in disguise. 2 players of similar skill one with the other without thorn, thorn will win. The only exceptions are very close range (TLW) and very very long range (mida) even they

I don't have any analytics tools but from my experience. I'm not following. The Thorn was easily countered with Red Death, SR, TLW and some vendor bought auto rifles. I've learned over the years (playing Doom and Battlefield) they there are two types of people in PVP. There is your crybaby group. They are the ones who cry about everything that kills them and aren't willing to adjust, but instead, run to the forums or Twitter feed and bug the development team into submission. Then there are the guys like myself who embraces the challenge of taken on what the crybabies deem OP. The Thorn can be beat and been beaten repeatedly. So it's time for the pretentious, to drop the act and embrace the notion.

Well said. There is a reason I have more pulse rifle kills in crucible than any other weapon. RD vs thorn for months. You would win the gun fight instead of trading w/dot.

Also requires me to spend half the match crouched in a corner waiting for health to come back. If I queue into 3s and see thorn I just leave. CBA with that crap.

Yeah three body shots will let the burn finish you but you can usually drop them if three is all they get and all hcs kill with four shots or 3 to the head. No argument about the annoying screen effect. I don't really mind it now.

True but if we both use a similar ROF weapon let's say thorn and water star. Why should one reward a kill for 3 bodies and one for 3 heads. Surely that's bad balancing. Honestly I'm so sick of thorn after year 1 I have nothing but contempt for people who use it against me now.

Well that would imply destiny even being balanced anyway and with the exception of identical weapons facing off someone will have the advantage in every gun fight in destiny. But I do think thorn would have been better balanced to begin with if it wasn't the fastest rof style of hc

I haven't really encountered thorn much in the crucible in this last week or so. But I can see why it would be annoying to fight against.
