Just play whatever u like to play with. I've gone trough trouble getting that thorn and when i finally got it i enjoyed playing it. If Bungie didn't want us to play with Y1 weapons they would have changed things big time.

I did that but I dismantled it in year 1 because it was a really cheap weapon to use in the crucible and it could get it back easily. But I never got it back, until Xur sold a primary legacy engram in year 2.

Fierce battles were screwed after the auto rifle nerf

I used a green shotgun from the gunsmith. I didn't have much raid weapons back then. It took a while but I did it. Thanks to a green shotgun.
