Read this: Crybabies about Y1 weapon use
I sometimes use Y1 weapons (PvP) just because i like them. It doesn't mean that i don't know how to use the Y2 weapons..
Yesterday i was playing crimson and i used the thorn just because i haven't played with it in quite a while and to complete the bounty where u have to make kills with different weapons. We were on round three when i got a message from the opponents saying, scrub no skill thornbitch...
I was like wtf dude get a fking life.. first it's for the bounty and second so what if i use thorn (he was playing icebreaker)... It takes no skill?? The weapon doesn't fire by itself.. U still need to aim and shoot and fking hit the target.. It's not like the weapons is aiming itself and killing sh*t while i just run circles...
The bit*hing part of this community needs to stfu and get a life.. Nobody ever complained when they were killing shit with the gjallarhorn that it's too OP... What do people wanna see, Ban of year one weapons and the by far OP weapons now?? Then what?? There will always be weapons better then other weapons. Fking deal with it or ask Bungie to delete all the weapons but one in PvP. That way no weapon will be OP... No fking wonder we had so many OP weapons during certain months.

1999 vs 325 in the (i'll admit biased) poll. I have been trying some Y1 weapons in the trials last weekend and i've come across a lot of players doing the same. Ice breaker was a favorite and of course Thorn. When looking at the map I still picked my Mida, since is I believe more effective then the Thorn because most games were played on range. Equipping a sidearm and switching to a sniper was also popular. I also have to a admit we had some encouters that were really laggy... They just didn't die... Image u Fist of havok someone with the titan and they just run away like u slided in istead of using ur super...
Hope u guys had fun with the Y1 weapons in Crimson Doubles, I know I had a blast.. Enjoy your 320 ghosts guys and I can't wait on more info about the large dlc later this year and the sequal of destiny in 2017!!!
IT'S finally confirmed!! (just wonder if we will have to say goodbye forever to our atm Y1 weapons) What do you guys think/speculate??

1 ReplyOnly hand cannon I like that I have is the Ace of Spades, but I can't use it on my Titan. I refuse to use Thorn so I guess that bounty will go incomplete.

I haven't gone back to year 1 weapons, just cause I like the year 2 weapons, but when I get bored and want to use old stuff, I will. There aren't THAT many guns in the game that we should artificially ban the use of a third of them.

lmao. thorn actually makes alot of sense too, 'cuz its DoT does exactly what bungie intended it to do, STOPS REGEN! when your opponent has a 1.5 second regen timer, using thorn to make it a 5 second timer is just being smart.

Edited by Mar: 2/12/2016 12:32:46 AMnobody ever complained when they were using gjallarhorn?! i don't think you ever noticed the ton of people complaining that other people didn't have gally, (and locked them out of raids and PoE for not having possibly the rarest weapon in the game) and then when everyone got gally they all complained non stop about how other people having it somehow made them worthless... despite complaining about and mocking people who didn't have it literally 1 - 2 weeks prior and then the huge group of people calling for a nerf for it because it made everything have no challenge, despite the loud obnoixous retards using it as a arbitrary PvE requirement who screamed "its fine! git gud scrub" or "mad cause bad" or some other stupid copy pasted response. or the people complaining about being locked out of content by retards with a rare weapon. gally was probably only 2nd to thorn and TLW in terms of what people complained about around the end of year 1. basically what im saying is the morons in this toxic stupid filled community will generally complain about anything that kills them, or is taken from them to keep them from being super special snow flakes. and have complained about almost everything there is to moan and groan about. as to why they tend to all funnel into the crucible (and why most of them for w /e reason seem to be hunters) your guess is as good as mine. My mindset is that if you want to cry about not having Y1 guns, well that's your fault since your probably a Y2 starter.

It's annoying for Y1 players who had to deal with thorn, felwinters and the rest of the OP Y1 weapons forrrrevvvverrrrr and then once they are supposedly obsolete and we think we don't have to deal with them anymore they resurface because people use them as crutches. I am guilty of using the weapons some times but I don't need to use them to be competitive. I am no way saying that I am a PvP God or anything.

3 RepliesIt still amazes me to see people cry over the Thorn. I never saw anything wrong with it in the Thorn days and still don't today other than it has less range now and it hasn't been pulled fwd yet so I just have mine as a blueprint right now. The only thing good about the Thorn is the DOT other than that it still takes just as many shots as other guns to kill just as many head shots just as many body shots.

1) I don't care if if people use y1 guns. tired of people using icebreaker/ sidearm round 1 and switch to another sniper round too get ammo. they need find way were if gun regen ammo shouldn't switch to another gun had max special. 2) in trials Year 1 snipers shouldn't be able head shot kill.

2 RepliesI mean I don' super care personally- but yeah using Thorn is like literally me auto-assuming you either suck and want to feel like a badass, or are just an asshole, and when my friends send the hate messages I eagerly await to hear whatever excuse like this thread gets thrown back at em. I get more upset when I see any other (non-exotic) Y1 weapon in crucible, just because I can't help but wonder what prick held onto it just cause they must have thought it was OP and would super easily snuff out ppl using weaker newer stuff in a casual gametype where light doesn't matter. I mean you do you and have fun if that is just your intent, but I'm going to assume ppl like you are malicious beezies.

Use whatever you want. Thorn will get you hate mail. I used it year one. But year 2 I prefer the doctrine. Just something about spraying people down and melting them at mid to close range is so fun.
