Read this: Crybabies about Y1 weapon use
I sometimes use Y1 weapons (PvP) just because i like them. It doesn't mean that i don't know how to use the Y2 weapons..
Yesterday i was playing crimson and i used the thorn just because i haven't played with it in quite a while and to complete the bounty where u have to make kills with different weapons. We were on round three when i got a message from the opponents saying, scrub no skill thornbitch...
I was like wtf dude get a fking life.. first it's for the bounty and second so what if i use thorn (he was playing icebreaker)... It takes no skill?? The weapon doesn't fire by itself.. U still need to aim and shoot and fking hit the target.. It's not like the weapons is aiming itself and killing sh*t while i just run circles...
The bit*hing part of this community needs to stfu and get a life.. Nobody ever complained when they were killing shit with the gjallarhorn that it's too OP... What do people wanna see, Ban of year one weapons and the by far OP weapons now?? Then what?? There will always be weapons better then other weapons. Fking deal with it or ask Bungie to delete all the weapons but one in PvP. That way no weapon will be OP... No fking wonder we had so many OP weapons during certain months.

1999 vs 325 in the (i'll admit biased) poll. I have been trying some Y1 weapons in the trials last weekend and i've come across a lot of players doing the same. Ice breaker was a favorite and of course Thorn. When looking at the map I still picked my Mida, since is I believe more effective then the Thorn because most games were played on range. Equipping a sidearm and switching to a sniper was also popular. I also have to a admit we had some encouters that were really laggy... They just didn't die... Image u Fist of havok someone with the titan and they just run away like u slided in istead of using ur super...
Hope u guys had fun with the Y1 weapons in Crimson Doubles, I know I had a blast.. Enjoy your 320 ghosts guys and I can't wait on more info about the large dlc later this year and the sequal of destiny in 2017!!!
IT'S finally confirmed!! (just wonder if we will have to say goodbye forever to our atm Y1 weapons) What do you guys think/speculate??

1 ReplyUsed thorn for the bounty, I actually hate the gun. I got like two or three kills with it one game and about eight with my sniper. Got the message "get a life thorn user"' and I replied that I coulda used TLW if he would have liked. And he said fine TLW can't 3 shot kill. I replied no...but it only took one shot from my sniper to dome you. And then he just replies ya good point. Wtf is the point of sending a message if you're just gonna give in lol.

2 RepliesSo... Was playing against a guy with thorn. He killed me... No probs. Then he t-bagged me. Big mistake, I self res'd, killed him, dropped my balls right in his face. Then I switched to thorn and rekt him. The punchline... He messaged me saying I was a scrub. Best hate mail ever. People always gonna hate. Screw em and have fun.

Thorn doesn't take skill, lol the few times I've used it the gun literally does 99% of the work for you. There's no other gun in the game that feels as easy to use as Thorn is. But to each their own for what you want to use, I won't complain haha.

1 ReplyThe hate mail is an issue in all games tho. I was playing halo and I got a random insult. I sent them a question mark. He said to stop killing him with a bs ghost. And called me a scrub. I didn't even use a ghost. It comes down to players taking this way too seriously. They act like they are being forced to play. They also care so dearly for kdr it's like blood to them. I never cared for kdr. I like charging rooms full of enemies and hoping to cause chaos. Cuz it's a game. No one is putting my damn kdr on my tombstone. "Here lies little billy. He was an asshole, but daaaammnn that kdr is hot shit" It's the gaming community. It's for entertainment ppl. Have fun with it.

Everyone says im a year 1 player but complain about year 1 weapons. Didn't stop players using tlw and 1k stare combo in year 2 How many of those you run across in pvp ?? Too many

Icebreaker is the only thing I have a problem with, like are you that impatient for some Sniper ammo?

I think you should use whatever makes it fun for you. I could care less if some idiot messaged me that im a Thorn biatch. I worked my azz off getting that gun in year one. "Earned" so to speak. I tend to use my Mytoclast when going in to pvp. Loads of fun!

Biased poll is biased but correct. People should be able to use what they wanna use, I just hate the thorn. Just my opinion, I don't hate anybody for using it.

The year one weapons are just way more fun to use. Thorn is evil looking and shoots railroad spikes that burn your soul. It's all about having fun anyway so use what you want.

Community logic: "We should be able to use year one content, so it matters!" Ska year 1 content should be just as viable as year two. (I agree) "Year one weapons (content) should be banned from crucible" (I don't agree because I think year 1 content should as viable as year 2) Let's not forget players use more year 1 because year 2 was nerfed to the ground, and now rereleased year 1 are getting calls on nerfs...

I have my ingame mail blocked, only friend can email me, I dont give a f... and enjoy my hard farmed and nice collected y1 weapons. Whatever is not in their tiny meta, scrubs will cry... always.

I don't like the way thorn basically nullifies the recovery buff from broken heart. That is important in getting away sometimes and puts you at a disadvantage compared to me using, lets say, hawksaw?

I don't the the problem for the most part though it probably is frustrating for a Y2 player who doesn't have easy access to them, especially since ice breaker totally negates a huge change they just made to the game. That said, complaining about Thorn is 100% legit, it's a bullsh!t weapon. That archetype should not be able to 3 bodyshot kill, period. How that equates to "skill" I will never understand.

The biggest problem is that Year 1 weapons are just better in general. Those complaining about certain weapons are the ones that ruined this game in the first place and sadly are the ones Bungie seems to cater to. I've only complained about balancing when the only weapons worth using were pulse rifles, and that was only because it made PvP boring. Use whichever weapons you want. I don't care about that.

Complaining does nothing, people kept the guns from year one so of course they are going to use them. People say that Crimson Doubles should have been level advantaged to prevent year ones but not the case. Always made me laugh that Bungie makes prior DLC guns non useable in PVE because of level/ light but can use anything in PVP.
