Petition To Make The Sunbreaker Relevant Again
Who has the feeling that the Sunbreaker is really lackluster compared to other Subclasses after the HUGE nerf they got?
I rarely see any Sunbreakers in PvP and I played Trials all weekend long and only saw ONE godamn Titan that used the Sunbreaker. Even I, someone who loves the Sunbreaker have to force myself to use Striker in Trials to be competitive. And when I decide to use Sunbreaker in Trials my fireteam look at me like I'm suicidal, and I cant blame them because Sunbreaker is really bad right now, hammers are inconsistent and the neutral game is shit. Even the guys at PlanetDestiny, who once saw the Sunbreaker as an immortal God think that it is too weak in its current state. I even made a video about this.
So sign here if you want Bungie to buff the Sunbreaker a little so its in line with other subclasses and tell how they should buff them (bigger blast radius? Or better neutral game? Or...?)

2 RepliesThe problem is that Sunbreaker is considerably more vulnerable from focused fire than it used to be. Bungie really only needed to nerf either damage resistance, Cauterize, or Hammer effectiveness, not all three. Sunbreaker is too dependent on Cauterize to take on a group, and that doesn't even address the chances of getting head shot from a sniper is very high these days. The biggest change I made was be much more cautious in my approach and not rush every engagement. It's still a very strong subclass imo.

From that footage it definitely looks that way and also I have had the same issues. I've even hit a guy in the face with a hammer and he lived. Bungie did over nerf the Sunbreakers.

4 RepliesThis can't be done. They released a version that people to this day want back. That version was unfair and flawed but now everything else done to it seems small. Fact is people are still good with this class and some never will be. You should decide which you are and move that way. I literally play with a guy that threw a hammer from the mid point between B and A (Control) and one hit a dude at the flag. He loves the class and maybe that's why he plays it, maybe he has a good strategy or build I don't know. I hope you find a subclass you enjoy as well because the old breaker back isn't going to happen.

Edited by ClovenTrack620: 2/8/2016 8:34:30 PMHammer of sol might be one of the coolest looking supers in a reveal trailer but honestly throwing hammers is such an unreliable super and u guys know it, titans had nerver had a long range super cause they're meant to be the "IN UR FACE TYPE OF GUARDIAN" then u gotta deal with the issue of a tracking system and blast radius cause people wanna snipe with hammers and that is just plain stupid. A better super would have been something similar to arc blade with the hammer of course or at least something among those lines with good damge resistance and a bit of speed to compensate so more agile enemies cant just easily run away and make u waste it. But yeah sure FLYING HAMMERS IS THE WAY TO GO, i started out playing destiny as a titan back in d vanilla days, and i swear to god i was so pumped up for the new subclass . But the sunbraker subclass was such a fail that i didnt even bother upgrading it past the the super and honestly i never will cause it is complete garbage. Might as well delete the whole damn subclass create the marshmallows titan with a super called SUPERMALLOMELTDOWN or some sh!t, im sure it'll be far more effective

The only good thing about it was super.... Now it has been nerfed and it has nothing special. I mean look at the stormcallers, good subclass and super! I am not calling for a nerf. But just a minor tweaking to make sunbreaker a worthy option.

1 ReplyHonestly I think they should have only nerfed it a little bit in the beginning and see how the class balanced out after that. Like a slightly shorter duration to the super time and adding a cool down to cauterize. Right now it has an average super and crap neutral game.

4 RepliesFix hit detection of the hammers (and melee's and Arc Blade) and we shall be fine. I ran Sunbreaker all weekend (I FINALLY GOT MY TWILIGHT GARRISON so my Titan has finally gotten a lot of love) and I enjoyed it. Only once did I clearly hit someone with a hammer, for it to register no damage.

But when you compare the other classes to sunbreaker, you begin to realize how shit they actually are. No prolonged supers, and both are mainly PvE focused. Which isn't a bad thing but I wanna kill people's virtual avatars. Not some A.I. Who won't be seething in anger as I T-bag their corpse. I want hate mail for using my Titan again. The salt that was produced from my opponents was enough to fill the ocean twice over. I was even getting it from other sunbreaker Titans because I would steam roll them. I'm not saying I'm spectacular at this game's sorry excuse for PvP but I felt like I was when I used sunbreaker because that class just clicked with me.

Sunbreakers aren't used because strikers using armaterian with those lightning grenades are so op.
