Micro$oft will throw out some pre-launch bribed reviews, a lot of people will buy it, then they'll realize that it "blows ass," the population will drop, and Micro$oft will put the additional Halo games that 343i has been contracted to make on hold. If the next game they make fails, then the other titles will be canceled and the franchise as a whole will be put on hold until they can figure out how to revive the cash cow.
