A large majority of the Year 1 maps aren't even in the basic playlist and require you to play "Classic" modes..Just like how some of the Strikes aren't in the basic playlist and require you to play the "Legacy" playlist.
Not using that as an argument against the lack of PvE events or anything; but they're overall in the same boat. PvP just has more longevity than PvE.
