1) The Scout Rifle Class Is the most balanced weapon class 2) Mida Takes a minor degree
Of skill and finesse to use . 4 Headshots for a kill so if you can't land your crit shots you'll most likely lose the gunfight . 3) in close range you can easily win against Mida 4) it's TTK (Time To Kill) isn't OP at all 5) Jade Rabbit or any other higher Impact Scout Kills In 3 Headshots 6) Mida is The only weapon able to keep Snipers in check since pulse rifles got nerfed 7) Mida Has been the same weapon since day 1 a good gun that just is popular due to its perks 8) the secret perk of Mida is high caliber rounds that's not OP so it causes you to get staggered or flinch .. And your point is ? It's not thorn where you die in seconds and have no way to counter it 9) The Inward Lamp is better than Mida Try it out for yourself 10) Nerfing Mida won't change anything another gun will become popular and be perceived as OP just because a gun is used a lot doesn't make it OP

I think lowering the Midas aim assist would be the best thing to balance it

Scout rifles got nerfed at least twice in destiny. It's the most balanced gun in game!

Edited by HELP1NG HAND: 2/6/2016 2:07:51 AMI disagree. It was once the most balanced weapon in the game. It was good in all fields and great in none. But then hand cannon accuracy and ammo count got nerfed, auto rifles damage and range got hit pretty darn good, pulse rifle range and accuracy got cut down a lot, and scout rifles stayed the same. So now, when every other weapon has a weakness to allow for counter play, the Mida retains its good mag count, firing on a hair trigger, wicked reload speed, hitting for good damage with a great rate of fire from solid range, and grants a boost to movement speed. It was a good gun that was balanced and versatile enough to see great use in a wide variety of builds. Now its a monster of a gun that has retained all of its strengths, and all of the factors that made it so powerful. In the Crucible today, every weapon has a weakness that can be exploited to allow for counter play -every weapon except for the Mida. Mida's can melt down pretty much every other weapon in the game with ease by controlling the range of the engagement. Up against an AR, Pulse, Sword, or Shotgun? Use the speed to back up. Taking on a Scout, Hand Cannon, or Sniper? Get in their face. In a bad spot against a heavy machine gun or rocket launcher? Caught in a situation you can't control? Run away, they won't be able to catch you. If you score all headshots, the Mida will match a machine gun's time to kill anyway. Just use that superior speed to stick near cover, wait for your chance to land the first shot, and you got 'em. No, the Mida is far from being balanced. It used to be. It was once an absolute joy to play with. Its true power was that it could control the engagement itself -you always fought the enemy on YOUR terms. And it was very easy to force them to fight back while off balance. Plus it was well rounded enough to make it simple to use, but NECESSARY to make them fight back while outside of their comfort zone. Now, with all of the other weapons being hamstrung, the Mida still has all the tools to force the enemy into fighting at an angle that they're not ready for, but its stats as a whole now tower over nearly every other weapon in the game.

I beg to differ. Scout Rifles are a long to medium range weapon, meaning they should not be able to compete with close range weapons (I.e. Handcannons/Autorifles), and yet... they can. Why is that? because their scopes barely zoom, and hipfire accuracy is almost 100% accurate. Now I'm actually not a fan of bringing those things into reality, I am more for bringing everything else up. However, since Bungie is currently run by blind people, they won't ever change the weapons back to wear they were pre Taken King, because they want each weapon to serve a purpose, instead of being balanced. So actually I agree with you, Scout Rifles are the most balanced, and everything else (well besides pulse rifles which seem to be doing fine) needs to be brought up.
-
Mida has hidden perk, therefore it has more perks and it isn't the most balanced gun. Legendaries are the most balanced guns.
-
To be fair, it does have a faster TTK than some pulse rifles, assuming all shots are precision shots of course.
-
MMT is another band wagon.
-
It actually is. You can easily outgun a mida. You cannot kill a last word across the map with it though.

You're somewhat correct, MIDA has become overused because of the excessive nerfs to the other primary weapon types. An example would be No time to explain, it most likely has the most range for it's archetype in the game for a pulse rifle, I was on Black shield, next to the heavy ammo crate of the outside area, and I was shooting someone on the ledge with the special ammo, in A point's direction, and my critical damage was cut in half. IN HALF, that much falloff for damage is ludicrously terrible, the effects of the damage decrease were enough to put pulse rifles in their place. The ranged nerf was unnecessary, because now there are very few weapons that can compete at even mid-distance, the range that pulse rifles were intended to function at, with the MIDA because of how sever the nerfs were, the only gun I can reliably compete against a MIDA with is my SUROS PDX-45 with hidden hand and several range boosting perks, or that of another scout rifle. It's not that the gun is OP, it's that everything else has been nerfed so badly that it has become an over dominant option in anything pvp.
-
I don't like MIDA and I completely agree. Well said.
-
Its been around forever and all of a sudden its the go to gun. Why?
-
Suuuure, the gun that let you easily solo the thrall maze under level can't be broken as hell.
-
Name 3 flaws about MIDA. Most other weapons have noticable flaws that keep it in balance. MIDA has too many pros, and hardly any cons. Yeah, it seems balanced, but that's because it's not insanely OP, just a little bit.

Here, this is right off Bungie's site. Scout Rifles are the best Primary Weapon for long range engagements Scout Rifles perform best when landing paced precision shots Rate of Fire and Optics are tuned so that Scout Rifles are a little harder to use effectively close in Changes: Increase base damage for medium to high Rate of Fire Scout Rifles PVP: Does not affect TTK in PVP on a Guardian with full healthIncrease magazine size for all base inventory stats Reduce Final Accuracy when firing from hip Fast firing outside of ADS will be less accurateBoost damage by 5% against AI combatants

It's just Overused. That's the only problem. Everyone uses it because Xür sold it. I prefer my full auto pulse rifle of damage
-
-
Ill still use it regardless, just to see the look on people's(snipers) faces.
-
Better get the most out of it before it's hit by the Nerf hammer.
