So, I was watching a Killer Instinct stream, and then the guy streaming decided to start playing Heroes of the Storm. It looks kind of interesting, but a bit overwhelming and confusing too. Anyway, I'm kind of open to giving that kind of game a chance, but I don't have a decent PC.
Sooooo, I turn to Smite. It's on Xbox One, and I'm downloading it right now. I know that it's in 3rd person instead of an overhead view, which I really like. (I feel an overhead view is too impersonal and detached.)
So... what should I expect from Smite? Other than what I've said, I don't really know anything...

By the way, look up Drybear on youtube.
-
Trust me, it's great.

TPS dota

SMITE IS BAAAAAAAAAAAAAD. GET A DECENT COMPUTER AND PLAY LEAGUE HAHANABAHABAHANAHANANA NOOOO SMITE IS AWFULL LOOOOOOL
-
MOBA game that is 3rd person perspective. Characters are Gods. Btw good idea to not play with lvl30 friends.
-
Pretty fun and fast paced
-
Just a word of advice, playing in a party of 3 or more is key to winning the majority of the modes. Usually playing with entire teams of randoms will cause you to lose.
-
Check out Weak3n on YouTube. He has a lot of good beginner videos on how to play and build the different characters. And since it's a third person view rather than an overhead view. Wards are extremely important. Harder to get ganked with a ward since in third person you can't see behind yourself. Also if your not looking at the minimap at least every few seconds you are wrong. Map awareness is very important in MOBAs. Also versatility is important. The way you would play in Conquest is not the same as it is in Joust or Assault or Siege. Learn the different strategies for your different characters. Also if you have a mic, use it. Communication is very useful and advantageous. But most important of all is have fun and don't be that guy.

Stick too arena until you understand how to build the god you like, then clash to learn how to play with lanes. Season 3 is soon and they are making it easier for new people to hop in so hopefully that helps
-
It's really fun, requires a lot of teamwork and knowing how to play your character. I'd recommend playing with friends if you can, I've run across more brain dead randoms than I like to think about.
-
MOBAs are bad mmmk
-
Good luck, just remember to help jungle early game, report missing enemies to your team and most of all, good luck and have fun!
-
Retarded teammates that don't know how to play the role they choose, I've got 45 days in that game, what's your ft, I'll play with you
-
A less mlg league of legends
-
It's like league of legends, or Heroes of the storm, or DOTA. The only unique thing about smite is the perspective. It's played in third person, unlike other MOBAS which are played from a over-head sort of view.
Bump because I'll be playing it soon.
I would recommend looking at most of the Gods to see what they can do. Find one that looks fun, go into a Jungle Practice game, read what items do, and have fun. MOBAs have a bit of a steep learning curve, what once you learn the basics, you'll have a lot of fun killing things. You'll learn what other Gods do which will eventually allow you to read their movements and get away from the most annoying abilities. *cough Ymir cough* Presently, Apollo and Ratatoskr are my favorite gods to play that I haven't gotten to rank 10.
-
It's awesome fun, but you need to know what you're doing. I main Loki with Thanatos as a second: even though they're both assassins, they're drastically different. You need to learn how your God works and play around with them until you learn how to use them. Thanatos and Loki are pretty good gods to learn with.
-
Please play the tutorials first before jumping into PVP You can play as any God in the jungle tutorial to get a feel for the first one you want to buy After, you can look up builds for Gods you prefer to use/ want to play as.

Edited by Heavens: 2/3/2016 6:07:41 AMIncredibly fun if you have a well functioning team. Takes a while to get used to. My friends got me into it and now I have more play time than most of them and more player kills.
-
Lots of fun IMO, it's the only MOBA game I've actually been able to enjoy. I'll also advise avoiding league matches (the ranked play) as its a toxic hell hole as it is with any MOBA.
-
Smite is a more casual MOBA. There is still item building, still tons of strategy, seventy something characters available to play, and a lot to learn. But it's tons of fun, too. Just find a god you like playing, figure out a build(I look mine up online), and just play. You'll get your ass beat at first. No way around that. You'll get the hang of it, though.

It's fun. LoL is more competitive, but SMITE has dedicated developers and an awesome community. It's also a third-person MOBA, so it shakes up the formula. There are some Pros and Cons to playing the game on either PC or Xbox. Either way, try it out because there is a free set of gods that you own as well as gods that are playable each week.

Edited by Spyndrikal: 2/3/2016 5:48:50 AMIt's a fun game to play if you're bored, but it's not as competitive as LoL or dota. It's still better than heroes of the storm cuz that shits gaaaaay
