Well I don't know about him but a great steak dinner will make most men happy as hell (myself included). Either at home or at a place like Outback Steakhouse (or whatever great steakhouse you might have near you), a steak dinner with you (his world :P) would likely make his birthday incredibly special. Might not be for you two, but that's my two cents worth! =)

Just thought of this. Has he tried the Souls games (Dark Souls 1/2, Demons' Souls, Bloodborne)? The new one comes out I believe in early April or March, so if he has tried one and enjoyed them (and only then!) a pre-order might be nice. I say only if he has tried one and enjoyed it because they can be very frustrating for people starting out (but are very well made and addicting!).

If you want to see some interesting gameplay you can look up Oroboros on Youtube. He plays the Souls games (sometimes even with his girlfriend).

Sorry, forgot to mention: Oroboro is good at the PvP aspect of Dark Souls. If you want to see more of the PvE aspect, look up Lobosjr. He plays a lot of games but you can go to his playlists and find Dark Souls/Bloodborne
