I've used auto rifles recently in this latest Iron Banner and I'd like Bungie to know (if they ever read this) that auto rifles are horrible weapons. In Crucible they can be somewhat successful and in PvE they do wonderfully, but for some weird reason they have even less dropping power in the Iron Banner. Perhaps it's lag, a connection issue, or even defense vs. attack values, I fully admit that it could be, but how would that explain it happening so routinely? I've changed around my auto rifles from high to low rates of fire with varying stability and range stats but it always seems to be the same.
Before the next Iron Banner I'd like to see a damage buff at the very least. I'm aware that this is an ongoing issue with the whole community but I wanted to put it out there that the Iron Banner makes auto rifles just plain terrible.

[spoiler]Hello OP or anyone choosing to read this message. I've moved this thread over to #Feedback. I'd suggest reading Cozmo's posts on each forum for what does and does not belong in each forum section. If they get another buff iswear doctrine would be an unstoppable lmg instead of being an ar. Dotrine is so op that you have to gang up on the person using it just to kill the user. In a 2 on 1 fight the doctine user will have killed 1 per and left other persons health in the red.

I really enjoyed using my An Answering Chord. It has a very specific range that I would outshoot anything. I think the most important think about ARs is finding the right battles at the right ranges
-
Higher light levels do that.

Edited by SpacemanSpff434: 2/2/2016 7:11:45 PMI can use HROF. I found that if I moved to higher impact / LROF I couldnt kill a damn thing. I'd say leave HROF like doctrine alone and buff the low rate of fire.
-
I'm worried about the damage buffs tbh, doctrine would be an issue if they get buffed. The only reason it is good is because of counterbalance. It stops the horizontal recoil.
-
All auto rifles need is a 0-1 point damage buff to HRF, 1 point buff to MEF, and 2 point LEF. I use auto rifles myself, since day one. And i feel as any more than the buffs I listed above would make them OP. Doctrine is being seen more, yes. But let's be honest, I think people just prefer ARs and bad ass hand cannons vs anything else, and doctrine is the only AR that can really hold its own in PVP right now, mostly because most, if not all, doctrine have the perk that allows it to become more accurate the longer it's fired. I personally think without that perk, doctrines would have been shit. But going up against Midas or last word doctrine is almost useless. The flinching is incredible. Not sure if that's a bug or not.
-
The faster the fire rate the better the AR, doctrine is king at the moment, it just melts.
-
Hardlight is pretty good.
-
I found that autos werent that bad, with exception to slow firing autos. What surprised me was that i was only effective with it at medium to long range. Isn't that where auto rifles are supposed to be weakest?
-
Ya, unless you're using an exotic then autos ( with a few exceptions) suck. Terrible range and slow ttk compared to other primary weapons (pulses are pretty weak now too).
-
Using a gun under 310 has damage reduction
-
I got mowed by the IB auto-rifle so many times this iron banner. Supercell and Hardlight are also amazing in PvP. Haven't had a chance to try suros yet, but I'd expect similar results.
-
Auto Rifles or auto rifle because all I see is people using the doctrine...
-
DISAGREE. I ran suros regime all banner across all three characters and have done fine. Also been rekt repeatedly by a wider variation of ARs than any other gun type in the game, this banner.
-
Doctrines good. The other classes suck
-
I use auto rifles all the time and I disagree. I house people with them

Edited by Thorn: 2/1/2016 6:38:05 PMYou should move this to #feedback for better results. #help is for technical errors. I would also love to see auto rifles go back to their throne ;)
