So you may have seen my post awhile back about my idea for a fourth class, the Redeemed, which basically takes the enemy races and puts them on the Light side. Well, this post is basically a reworking of that class, changing the story, and adding some more to the class and subclasses themselves. This post includes nothing but the stories and properties of the class.
Oh, and if you’re wondering: yes, the starter weapons will be able to be upgraded into Legendaries, then Exotics.
[b][u]ALL ABOUT THE FALLEN[/u][/b]
Starting weapons are Shock Rifle and Shock Pistol. Pick up Scorch Cannon later.
[u]ATTRIBUTES[/u] This race is intended to be the agile, quick-recovering race. They sacrifice toughness for speed to get an edge on their opponents. They have fast weapon swap speeds due to having four arms, as well as the ability to melee and use grenades while firing.
[u]ARMOR[/u] The armor that this race acquires (this will have the same name and stats as armor for other races, but the appearance will be modified to fit their model) will be a thin layer of armor that is skin-tight (like Hunter armor).
[u]STORY[/u] The Fallen story kicks off on a black screen as Variks narrates, “You are a Vandal. Having been lucky not to be a Dreg, you fight for your House, yes? You fight for House Kings. Ah, but, something does not feel right, it does not feel like you are fighting the right fight. Perhaps you should not kill Guardians, perhaps you should join them. The cause you help now do not honor you, it mocks you. You see your comrades die day after day by Guardian hand, all because they are told to fight for the Great Machine. Perhaps it left your race with good reason, yes? Perhaps they are undeserving of its grace. Be like the Great Machine, Vandal. Redeem yourself. Leave the Eliksni for good. You wonder why your race is called Fallen? Because it is true.”
You wake up, in a Skiff (fallen dropship) on its way to the City for a secret reconnaissance mission. There are vandals on your left and right, and two Captains aboard. All are outfitted with cloaking tech (even you), and are ready to jump out of the ship. There is no dialogue between you beside the occasional Dreg talking out of turn, which is immediately silenced by a Captain’s gaze. Your friend had just tapped your shoulder, alerting you to wake up as you had almost fallen asleep (see what I did there?). Arriving at your destination, you and your comrades enter cloaking and jump out of the ship. Silently following your team, you enter a populated building where there is two Guardians and twelve civilians. A Dreg stupidly shoots one civilian and is run through by a Captain’s shock blade, as the two Guardians open fire. You duck behind cover while your friend from before is shot. Seeing him, you move him behind cover, trying to tend to his wounds, but he is already dead. Backup comes, one Guardian is killed, and the other is captured. The Captain orders the civilians be slaughtered, and you unwillingly do so. You are brought back to King’s Watch, your squadron’s base. You are a mess. Your friend had just died, and you were forced to kill innocent people. Maybe the voice was right. Maybe you should leave the Fallen. You have leverage.
You break the Guardian out of custody, and escape King’s Watch in a Skiff. You bring him back to the City and undergo a trade. You give them the Guardian, and they take you into training to fight for the Light. Ikora trains you and sends you into battles, and once you are strong enough, you kill the Kell of House Kings. Your training is complete, and you are allowed into all activities that Guardians are. Welcome to the Light, Vandal. Welcome to the good fight.
[b][u]ALL ABOUT THE VEX[/u][/b]
Starting weapons are Slap Rifle and Line Rifle. Pick up Torch Hammer later.
[u]ATTRIBUTES[/u] This race is intended to be the agile, tough race. They sacrifice recovery time for damage resistance and speed to take good amounts of damage, but only as much as they need to. This race gets a boost to speed and weapon damage when at critical health.
[u]ARMOR[/u] The armor that this race acquires will be almost like a skin, no changes to modeling other than the protruding pieces like spikes or leaves, essentially changes patterns and colors.
[u]STORY[/u] The Vex story starts on a black screen as text appears on the screen in short strings as a series of computer noises play. “You are a Goblin. You are the infantry of the Vex. You fight for a division, yours being the Sol Divisive. ...What is this? Your programming is being overwritten, your Progeny has been destroyed. You are being broken away from the rest of your division. Who… Who is doing this? A Guardian. Go! You must stop him. He will have you fight for the Light.”
You, a Goblin, start up, your processes generating as you begin walking through the Black Garden. There is one path you follow, it is wide and crooked. As you walk along it, it widens and you find the Guardian that is hacking your code. The first boss fight. Just as you kill him, the screen goes dark again. “He has done it. He? Who is he? Is it really a he? No. I have scanned it. The Guardian is female. She has overwritten your programming and you now must follow her orders.” The screen lights up, you are unable to move as the game moves for you. You walk back along the wide, crooked path, to find one branching off. It is straight, and narrow. You walk along it and into the Light. The text that lighted your screen before was not your programming telling you to do such things. It was the Guardian. The Guardian was buying herself time by inserting false subliminal messages into your code and having you destroy not her, but yourself. The world you traversed was not the Black Garden, it was your mind. She helped you break free of the Vex, and helped you into the Light. She will now help you into the City, and she will train you. When your training is complete, you go to the Black Garden and you destroy the Restorative Mind that would try to recreate the Heart. You are allowed into all activities Guardians can engage in. Welcome to the Light, Goblin. Welcome to the good fight.
[b][u]ALL ABOUT THE CABAL[/u][/b]
Starting weapons are Slug Rifle and Projection Rifle. Pick up Heavy Slug Thrower later.
[u]ATTRIBUTES[/u] This race is intended to be the tough, quick-recovering race. They sacrifice speed for damage resistance and recovery to take bulk amounts of damage and stay in the fight. This race endures much more non-precision damage to make up for the large size (headshot damage remains the same, bodyshot damage is less).
[u]ARMOR[/u] The armor that this race acquires will have large, noticeable differences in modeling when equipped. It is similar to Titan armor.
[u]STORY[/u] The Cabal story kicks off with no narrator, and rather has messages appear as you fight. “You are a Legionary. You fight for your Legion with undying passion, you fight for the Blind Legion. However, your Legion is weak. You watch your team members die by Guardian hands, and you know you will too. Why be proud of what is lacking? Abandon them. They are blind because they are shrouded by Darkness. Open your eyes, see the Light, and join it. Your chance is now.”
You know not why you fight this fight, you were not told the reason. Just as the messages from before end, a Guardian’s grenade next to you exploded. You were mistaken for as dead, they would have killed you if you had not gone unconscious. Your comrades have died, and you are the last of your team. A female Guardian, more sympathetic than the males, had stayed behind, knowing you were not dead. She knew your suffering and took you in after helping you get better. She trains you and trains you until your strengths are at their finest. When your training is complete, you are sent to kill the Valus of the Blind Legion. Once he is defeated, the Vanguard allow you into the Tower. You can now partake in all Guardian activities. Welcome to the Light, Legionary. Welcome to the good fight.
Some have mentioned I didn't include the other two enemy races: Hive and Taken. Why I didn't include Taken is kind of obvious, A. Oryx is dead B. the Taken literally could not turn from their ways of Darkness. Now, Hive is a bit more complicated to explain why they weren't included while Vex were. Hive ARE the Darkness. From the Worm Gods to Oryx, they are pure Darkness. "Then Vex are too, since Vex gates and Hive underworlds are connected" I hear you typing. However since Vex are machines and they have a central Mind, like their AI, they can be hacked. Yes, it would take an extremely skilled hacker, and yes, it would require lots of information about the Vex, but it COULD be done.
