----------- The only thing Destiny has going for it in comparison is more fluid game play mechanics. This really is only a product of it being a first person run and gun friendly combat system. Basically, these positive aspects are a byproduct of what comes with the territory, not skillful execution. Bungie could have made the greatest game ever to be seen and set a new standard to aspire for every title to come after it. Instead they chose to be incompetent and dropped the ball because they couldn't prioritize quality game play into their decision making. F@#k Destiny, Bungie, and the horse they rode in on. Destiny is dead, even if some of the current players still haven't caught onto that fact yet. Brain activity still persists for a few minutes after death. In this way is it also meaningless that Destiny still has active players. It's nothing short of a blessing from GOD that Bungie face planted with such great force that we can all hear the scraping of bone as Bungie surfs the pavement.
----------- I had reservations about the Division, but I started playing the Beta and I'm full of hope. The kind of hope that is full of great excitement, but still cautiously optimistic. The sort of optimism that can only be developed by the experience of a year one Destiny player. Anyone interested in the Division should know it is a cover based, third person shooter. Though this is self evident by game play videos, I say this to point out its not entirely friendly to run and gun, out in the open tactics. However, it is extremely fun - even though I tend to enjoy more fast paced mechanics. The slower pace of execution and movement is balanced by the speed of tactical analysis and decision making the player experiences. Actually playing the game is very different than watching the videos. It has a very in depth RPG element. You can upgrade and customize weapons, even skins. You have skill trees and subsets of skill modifications to choose from. It really is shaping up to look like the next big contender for the greatest MMORPG for this generation of games. As long as they execute the long term development of the game properly...as long as they don't go Bungie...

I'm sure Epic has already looked at Ubisoft and said. Really, you're going to copy our franchise. Gears Of War.
