Iron Banner Rank 5 Rewards
It seems the rewards for reaching Rank 5 in Iron Banner are split per the usual. Some people are pissed and some are content.
So far, my Rank 5 rewards were terrible. I got a 310 ghost (I've got a 315 and a 311 ghost) and I got a 313 helmet (I've got a 320 helmet). I'm not Rank 5 with my Warlock yet.
Instead of a random RNG package at Rank 5, what if we were giving a choice between an RNG weapon package with a ghost and an RNG armor package with a ghost.
It's still RNG based but players would have a little more control in what reward they receive. Personally, I'd rather receive weapons instead of armor. I'm much more likely to keep weapons even if they're below my light level. Armor almost immediately gets dismantled unless it's at or above my current light level.

EDIT: Just hit rank 5 with my Warlock. I received a 310 ghost (I've got a 315) and a 311 helmet (I've got a 313 helmet).
Seriously, wow.

I went into IB with my Titan 310 and after many hours of play all I got was - 314 Ghost 315 Gloves I bought the scout rifle, but I actually prefer my 310 Cocytus SR4. It beats it hands down. I wasn't expecting the rewards to be worth much, but considering the time it took me to reach rank 5 I did feel underwhelmed. All my gear was ranked to 310 before IB anyway. My main complaints about the whole "Iron Banner" event were the outrageous amount of red bar players cheating. I probably wasted more time reporting these twats than playing. It certainly wasn't fun. This is the overriding problem with Destiny's peer-to-peer system - it stinks. I paid good money to get a high quality 200MBps fibre-optic wired internet connection (in the UK), which is totally useless with Destiny's crap servers. Maybe if I used a can and some string I'd get better service!! Back to playing the awesome "Fallout 4" for me I think! :)

1 ReplyI got a bunch of turds as well. And all of my drops were craptasic and I grinded for an ungodly amount of time. But that's Destiny. Playing the same crap over and over and over praying to RNGeesus that you might get an item that isn't total trash.

Everything that follows was broken down, end of match rewards included... 9 pairs of boots Two helmets Three artifacts Four ghost shells One chest piece Two fusion rifles Two scout rifles I didn't get my toons to rank 5 until Saturday night........for some if us who can't play non stop it takes a long time to get to rank 5. Longer than running three hard mode raids. Longer than going flawless on a trials run. So why does the longest grindiest activity in the game not give us rewards that reflect that? They don't even need to be 320, just above 310

4 RepliesOn my Hunter I received a 310 Ghost and a 320 Helmet (not joking have a look), and on my Warlock I received a 310 Ghost and a 313 Hand Cannon. As for rewards from matches I only got a Pair of boots on my Warlock and for my Hunter I only got a chest piece. My thoughts? Decent package rewards (wish the Ghosts would also drop up to 320) and honestly bad post game reward 'drop rates'.

3 RepliesThey should just make the level 5 package a 320 drop. Though the people I know that hit 320 quit until the next content release that lets them get higher so giving good gear doesnt give bungie any advantage. The game is in limbo.

Brought all 3 characters to rank 5 by Thursday and was completely disappointed with the loot drops. Seems rediculous that we have to wait a month for the opportunity to garbage drops. And rift is horrible in my opinion.

Not a fan of this Iron Boner Rift in the ass. I grinded out my two characters and only got 3 ghosts and a helmet. No weapons! The Rift game mode from my experience wasn't very competitive or balanced. I was on several and I mean only several crushing victories. More often than not I was on losing ass whoopins. Alot of people are quitting early in the matches if they're losing. I stayed hoping for a RNJESUS blessing of a weapon. This Iron Banner Sucked Xur's hairy taint.

Been playing non stop since Tuesday for several hours a day and still have not seen 1 320 item drop. 1 x Ship 2 x Fusion 10+ x Scout I actually don't know why I play this game anymore. Yes I enjoy playing crucible and meeting people/having fun but grinding/lagging/shit rewards are really turning my head away from Destiny.

I'm max 305 light Titan I got the scout and fusion as match rewards once. (In low 280s). Decent roll on the scout. So I was pleased. Got 3 chests. 307, 296, 293 (maybe I got one more that I dismantled? Got about 2-3 boots. Highest was 298 with interesting perk: Capture King For rank 5 Saladin gave me 310 ghost, 313 class item. That's pretty good except I had the 310 ghost from last time, so this one is just infusion fuel I guess. 313 class item jumps that slot from max 300, so I'll take that bump. I think overall I'm 306 now? Plus I have 2 gold bounties and 1 green one leftover for next IB. Pray for clash.

You have always needed to grind the raid for everything you need to reach max level. It may just be the noobs that hitched on for christmas, but I figured that people by now would have realized that the raid has always, and will always be the most important activity to progression. Listening to people get upset over RNG that has more or less been the same since vanilla has honestly gotten stale. I understand that grinding is one of the core pillars to a loot-based game. It's what makes up most the gameplay. I'll admit, it gets overwhelming sometimes, but there's no way around the grind. People tend to forget that there's usually no easy short-cut to getting to the top. People think that since they're spending a lot of time in Iron Banner they should get something good for it, which is reasonable, but how many times does someone have to run Hard King's Fall, start to finish, to reach 320? What I'm getting at is that is that like the raid, Iron Banner is a weekly event, and also like the raid, you can sometimes get crummy loot for all that time you spent playing. I ask you players this: Has being "robbed" of loot ever stopped you from doing the raid permanently? For most, it's No. For those who say Yes- Destiny isn't the game for you. Edit: I made an error in judgement when I decided to say that Iron Banner never [i]dropped[/i] Top-Tier gear. SOMEONE out there must've gotten armor from the reward screen, right? That detail is kind of beyond the point I was making, but if everyone is going to call it bullshit I guess I needed to speak in perfect depth and detail.

1 ReplyMy rank five packages were good but.... I've been grinding for loot and so far I have recieved: 5 boots 1 scout All rubbish. I am rank 5 on all characters, shouldn't better gear be dropping? Those are my rewards across a WEEK. This IB loot is atrocious.
