----------- The only thing Destiny has going for it in comparison is more fluid game play mechanics. This really is only a product of it being a first person run and gun friendly combat system. Basically, these positive aspects are a byproduct of what comes with the territory, not skillful execution. Bungie could have made the greatest game ever to be seen and set a new standard to aspire for every title to come after it. Instead they chose to be incompetent and dropped the ball because they couldn't prioritize quality game play into their decision making. F@#k Destiny, Bungie, and the horse they rode in on. Destiny is dead, even if some of the current players still haven't caught onto that fact yet. Brain activity still persists for a few minutes after death. In this way is it also meaningless that Destiny still has active players. It's nothing short of a blessing from GOD that Bungie face planted with such great force that we can all hear the scraping of bone as Bungie surfs the pavement.
----------- I had reservations about the Division, but I started playing the Beta and I'm full of hope. The kind of hope that is full of great excitement, but still cautiously optimistic. The sort of optimism that can only be developed by the experience of a year one Destiny player. Anyone interested in the Division should know it is a cover based, third person shooter. Though this is self evident by game play videos, I say this to point out its not entirely friendly to run and gun, out in the open tactics. However, it is extremely fun - even though I tend to enjoy more fast paced mechanics. The slower pace of execution and movement is balanced by the speed of tactical analysis and decision making the player experiences. Actually playing the game is very different than watching the videos. It has a very in depth RPG element. You can upgrade and customize weapons, even skins. You have skill trees and subsets of skill modifications to choose from. It really is shaping up to look like the next big contender for the greatest MMORPG for this generation of games. As long as they execute the long term development of the game properly...as long as they don't go Bungie...

The division is really what destiny should have been. Actually multiple aspects of the division are what we all believed destiny was going to have based on advertisements. Massive open world, player hubs you can walk into, areas that you can step into and connect with other players, blending pvp and pve into one thing. The division is so far pretty spectacular.

I'm beyond confused why these games are getting compared daily. I spent around 8 hours playing the Division and I don't see much comparison at all. I prefer the world of the Division, the PvP, the amount of content it will ship with. I prefer the gameplay of Destiny, customization, and the enemies. I feel like the loot in the Division aren't as 'interesting' as Destiny. The enemies are also boring, especially needing a clip to kill a human.
-
I won't be the first to admit, the division was good. It had a few moments where it was a bit rough still but overall it was fun. Personally I don't think comparing the two, the division and destiny they are still very different games again. I am as frustrated as everyone else about year two for sure - the noticeable lack of content when it was promised. However, I also knew at some point I was going to move on. I will probably be back to destiny but I have too much happening and too many other games to play anyways that destiny can wait.

I'm sure Epic has already looked at Ubisoft and said. Really, you're going to copy our franchise. Gears Of War.

This is biased. You posted this in a Destiny subtopic. ;-;

I don't understand this stuff at all. I bought Ghost's Meliora album last year, was pleased they'd returned a little to the sound of their debut and have enjoyed it regularly since. I bought David Bowie's Blackstar album the day it came out and was astounded by it, an amazing piece of work I've listened to almost every day since. I still like Meliora just as much and I still listen to it. One has not replaced the other and I feel no need to compare. So, what the hell is wrong with gamers on this forum that have to compare, they have to have a winner and aloser, a game that somehow represents them to the wider world. Why can we not just play and enjoy anything anytime?
-
Guardians would destroy the Division agents.
-
I will play Division, I will also continue to play Destiny until it's no longer fun for me. See how easy that was?
-
These kinds of comparisons are stupid, these games are not even similar to one another. Also destiny is over a year old so how can it remain on top anyway?
-
Tl:dr -op does not like Destiny -op's feelings are hurt because other people still like it
-
A vs. B
-
some users are threatened that the division is doing better.
-
Wait until the full release of the division to make comparisons or you might get egg on your face.
-
If the division came out first followed by a Destiny beta, you would be saying the complete opposite
I l didn't read the wall of text
-
Now, we're comparing a game that has yet to come out and a game that's been out for a year. Division sounds like the same letdown destiny was. I'm sure everyone was saying the beta looked good in destiny. Filled people with hope.
-
They both are completely different..
-
Mark my words ubisoft is going to -blam!- up the division somehow
-
Ubisoft, Nuff said.....
-
Pls don't put destiny in the MMO category. The most other players you can see at a time is 11.

Edited by Wicked: 1/31/2016 4:55:07 AMAlso remember The Division is still in Beta. So a lot of the problems we're seeing with it at the moment, like the fluidity of gunplay, will most likely be refined and smoothed out by Ubisoft for release.

The beta seems bad.
-
Destiny already has games copying their subclass supers. If you need a break from it then please take one
-
I'm really enjoying the beta even tho it is very limited, the dark zone is great fun when you're with a few mates. The graphics were a bit disappointing but not the worst I've seen. It would be cool to see them add a arena type mode like the dz but smaller so the gameplay is at a faster pace.

Too much to read, but the division isn't even out yet, this is just a beta. A lot can change. Besides, destiny is already dead lol
