Okay under global markets and all it affect you, but what put us as a global power? I assure you it was not socialism, take a look at history socialism is not the answer here as all it does is stifle productivity and then the markets would be even slower. There was no progress look at unemployment between Obama and Bush (unless the progress is to dethrone the US). The average with Bush was around 3.7 IIRC and Obama is 7 or higher (again I don't have the exact numbers) costs have gone up money available for non essentials have gone done which is what happens with higher taxes and more entitlements. Now if there was more socialism this would only get worse. The best system as evidenced by the laffer curve is a free market with a 13.5 percent flat tax not progressive. Everyone pays the same not the unequal tax we have now. No offense taken on any perceived rudeness just debating a topic, so no worries.

  • But think of the good you can do for the less fortunate. Giving them a chance at higher education could mean more qualified people for higher end services like doctors or engineers, which should stimulate business growth. I'm not a business savvy person, so I can't discuss market growth well, but I do believe in giving everyone at least a shot for a better life.

  • The less fortunate always have chances for better education all they have to do is work hard if you show your ability or skill while in school (pre-K through 12 what is already funded by the government that allows everyone to at least get a diploma) There will be plenty of colleges/programs willing to pay your tuition for a higher education what more could you ask for? The idealism here is capitalism still which means the harder you work the more you make in contrast to socialism. Don't try to help those who never bothered to help themselves. Sorry for interjecting into your prolonged argument. I just hate it when someone continually spirals on about something and don't continue to learn about it, so they can understand it better.

  • So if they were born poor, that means they never bothered to help themselves? This is the exact sort of reasoning you privileged idiots want to use. There will definitely be people who will try and exploit given welfare, but there will be those who genuinely could use the boost. To decrease their chances of a better life is immoral.

I was talking education and even the poorest of the poor get that for free and if they work hard with it they can get a greater education and get a good job, but what you just did was twist my words that's not very kind

I do understand that however by using the system I suggest everyone is pulled up except those that insist on being the dregs of society. Free market capitalism is the unequal distribution of wealth, socialism is the equal distribution of poverty. Free market capitalism also cause goods to be cheaper so everyone becomes more prosperous. The problem is that you have to look at the whole equation, from your perspective what you see looks greedy and evil but when you step back you realize the opposite is true. We have been trying to eliminate poverty since around 1965 or whenever the war on poverty began and since then the number of Americans below the poverty line changed by less than 5 percent. It was not a reduction in the number of Americans below the poverty line but an increase.

  • In respect of your opinion I will say nothing further then. Thanks for the mature discussion.
