So I booted up destiny an hopped on into what I thought was gonna be lag spawn kill fest 2016. And other then a few rough matches I've been blown away by how much fun I've been having. Haven't been running a good kd, but I've been just annoying the hell out of the other team with shade step and my iron wreath. And it's been a blast. So color me surprised bungie good job this time
Edit: So happy to hear of everyone having a good time and keeping the salt levels low. Hope you all keep enjoying the banner and loot

Definitely enjoying it more these past 2 days than the first day. The first day seemed like a total disaster to me.

Edited by TeslaDoc: 1/29/2016 5:25:38 AMMe! Lots of fun. Who knew? I'm realizing how good Stormcallers, Bladedancers and Sunbreakers are for clearing paths for runners.
-
Did not like Rift before Iron Banner. I like Rift now. Nice work Bungie.
-
Bro rift is so much fun for ib a lot of people are like it's terrible but personally I think it's loads of fun even for solo

Edited by Tido702: 1/29/2016 4:59:56 AMHell yeah i am, pulled out the old voidwalker for it
-
Edited by Brokenspade: 1/29/2016 4:59:05 AMConstantly dumped into unwinnable games in progress... I'm over rift, big time. It's improved bit since then. But it's still not fun.
-
Its fun so long as the other team isnt a full fireteam of 5 or 6.
-
I vote btb for next ib
-
Yeap!
-
I keep getting matched up against one person with a dial up connection in -blam!-ing Guadalajara, so no I've had better times in Clash and Control Sure wish my IB boots had a perk that were useful in this game mode
-
I am not finding it too bad with the new matchmaking system
-
Been using the setup on my Titan for laughs.
-
I am usually terrible with PvP. I find myself accidentally stuck in beast mode during rift... or maybe it's because the other players are worse than me... either way its kinda fun.
-
I was surprised how much fun I was having this IB. This has been a good change of pace for a solo player. I've been around 50/50 for wins but k/d has been around 1.5 and I just designate myself as the spark runner so that solves that problem haha. Also connections have been great since the change.
-
Hell no. I play full parties on the other team every game. It pisses me off.
-
I liked about 2 matches. The other 15 were utter shit. Nothing like the game lagging, but only showing green bars for 70% of the match, then you'll see it. Enemy scores again, BAM, everyone in the yellow and some asshole trailing red for the remainder of the match. If only people didn't use their consoles as toasters, we might be able to play a full match without the -blam!-ing thing overheating.

Edited by Erijian: 1/29/2016 2:47:33 AMEnjoying it much more now than I did earlier in the week. Feels like SBMM fell off the face of the Earth for me which is great.
-
hate it and I would spend more in gas money to trade this piece of crap in
-
Never really got into the destiny pvp at all before but i thought I'd try it last night as i do need a 320 ghost on all characters. Actually it was pretty fun and 1.2 kd ratio is pretty good for a pve only guy i think.
-
Yes and no, some matches are fun and some are not Almost always you lose to a group and that's all I see, I really should find a group but I dont play enough at a time to do it
-
Me! Just hit rank 3 last night, had a few boot drops but nothing over 300 so far. I've gone about 50-50 with wins and losses. It's been fun. I suck at pvp but usually tend to do better in IB for some reason.
-
I play 500% better solo.

Edited by FarawayPaper: 1/29/2016 1:11:01 AMI am. This is my first Iron Banner. I still don't really understand the drop system but it can be good fun. I just got to rank 5 earlier today and I am wondering what incentive I have to continue. I already have okay iron arms, legs and chest. The arms dropped for me when I returned to orbit after talking to Lord Saladin a few minutes after he gave me rank 5 rewards. I don't really understand why it was then. I would like the helmet still but I don't think it is going to drop. My strategy is just to be the worst kind of person. I have all these invisibility perks for my bladedancer and I have "Don't Touch Me" arms. I stay primarily on the opponents side of the map. I use the shotgun. I steal their green ammo. I cause chaos on their flanks and run from direct confrontation. It works quite well because people are so focused on the objective and their radars that they don't hear the dude sprinting up to their backs. If they do give in and chase then my team can get the objective while they search. If I succeed then i get my super charged early and I invisible sneak up on them when they are about to get the objective and get some multi kills. This doesn't always work. If I get killed in the process without at least two kills then it wasn't worth it and my team is just down a guy. And if someone is laggy or moving awkwardly I can miss. And it means I need to change games often because they start to catch on. Basically its my crutch because I don't have the level of twitchyness needed to face someone directly. Either way, I imagine playing against me is not exactly fun.

Soloed the whole thing so far, it's been alright. Hit rank 5 on all 3 toons today, seemed to rank up a lot faster this time.
-
It's really fun when the games are close but I can't carry my team that often. 8 out of ten games are blow outs with probably 6 of 8 of those coming at my teams expense. I think it was a poor choice for Iron Banner. Casual Rift is fun, but it's too much like ToO in IB. But I have TONS of medallions, which is nice.

So far I have played solo, in teams of 2-3 and 4-6. After 47 matches the mercy rule has been applied 8 times as follows: 13870 - 420 12995 - 1370 13540 - 3480 13320 - 1600 4155 - 12250 1200 - 12025 13920 - 3380 3360 - 12495 I have a worst match of 1 kill (low skill and lots of lag) whilst in a team of 3 and a best of 21 kills whilst playing solo (no lag). The lag has varied from very little to terrible. Playing earlier today I noticed the matches were closer with several with a margin of less than 1000 points. Playing against teams of 5 or 6 is extremely difficult but very satisfying if you can win. I am one win away from rank 4 with loot drops of 2 x scouts and 3 x boots.
