Lighting doesn't strike in the same place twice, but i hope it hits him twice while standing in water, holding a metal pole.

Destiny is already dead..

I wonder what this shake up does to change Bungie's operating standards and how does the P&L get impacted. A CEO sets key pillars and understands what shareholders need. The recent content drought and original launch of Destiny have been a recipe for disaster in regards to sustaining their customer base and profit margin. That being said, either the new CEO has a plan for execution long term or this is a restructuring move to reallocate talent around the business. Truth be told, this changes nothing. We have to wait and accept the fact that content takes time to make. Even a full year of development might not be enough time for the next destiny. This transition phase will be a long one, we all want more of destiny, but now is the time to take a break and play other things. A costly lesson for Bungie, both you and I know we will all be back once content releases, I just hope The future roadmap is a more customer oriented one that makes us stay involved something like world of Warcraft

Our frustration wasn't due to DeeJ, Luke Smith, Wisniewski, Greg the tester, etc. It was this guy, they were just the faces we saw. The things we were frustrated with were the results of decisions from this guy. Shit flows downhill.

Can someone reply to this please?

Edited by SplinteredSteel: 1/28/2016 8:02:04 PMYea he got fired, read between the lines here... http://www.gamedynamo.com/article/showarticle/9671/en/bungie_appoints_a_new_ceo_as_harold_ryan_steps_down_from_his_role_as_studio_president EDIT: Whatever the case may be though according to this biography the guy started as a game tester and ended up being a studio head. That there is the American dream people. http://www.mobygames.com/developer/sheet/view/developerId,15681/

Does this mean we might actually see the Destiny we always wanted by the end of their 10 year contract? In that case! I'm totally stoked for the December 2024 release of: DESTINY 3: The NonFcuked Up Complete Version!
-
Harold Ryan! Hit the road Jack, & don't ya come back NO MORE! NO MORE! NO MORRRRRE! & Take Luke Smith with ya. F'in FCUK HEAD!
-
Maybe now we can get elemental primaries back
-
I hear the footsteps getting closer to deej... Next one to go

I wouldn't jump to conclusions about Harold Ryan. People leave jobs for all sorts of reasons, even CEOs. If Bungie is in distress, I do hope them all the best in recovering. Though I may criticize Bungie for how they run this game and sometimes when RNG is heavily sharding on me I wish Bungie could appear before me in the form of a man so I can punch Bungie in its nuts, it's because I want Destiny to be a better game. I have no ill will toward Ryan or Parsons.
-
Sure , because this CEO doesn't care about money....
-
I'll only believe it when I see it. Good luck new CEO; you're gonna need it to revive this shit.
-
The link on Pete parsons doesn't work

This is what I was thinking about before I saw the article.

And this is what I was thinking about after I read the article

Annnnnnnnd this is how much I am really impacted by this turn of events

only thing that would save this game from dying off is either Joe Staten's return, or renegade and extreme change within the current concept of how this games played. My suggestion? Put money into making rules and regulations for private games so people can compete on a ladder or have tourneys.
-
Another infusion material :(
-
He probably left cause he knew bungie was failing and didn't want no part of it anymore.
-
Edited by Black Howling: 1/28/2016 3:43:48 PMIf you think about it, Bungie has only gone down (mainly in respect) since ryan took the reigns. He was solely about the numbers and seemingly couldn't care less about anything but the bottom line. He will not be missed by Gamers. Unfortunately, it seems like the damage has already been done. It's gonna take a miracle to turn around Bungie's current joke status as a AAA developer.
-
Welp. Clearly something became legend.
-
You realize this article is dated 2013, old news, don't know what your expecting, but you probably wont get it.

Edited by Hulkksmash: 1/28/2016 4:11:45 PMWould you guys get off Statens -blam!-ing nuts We dont know what Statens vision was, but if rumors were true then it be nothing like we have now. A lot of what we have now people love and would be crying to put in that version. Quit acting like Statens version was some -blam!-ing baby jesus rebirth gift of heaven. You tards would have still bitched for shit in that game.
-
GiGo garbage in, garbage out
-
This doesn't seem like a quitting to me. Seems like a firing. The way they described it, and the way they only had words from the new CEO, no parting message or anything from the old guy. Wouldn't surprise me either.
-
If the CEO doesn't fire Luke Smith then he is as bad as the one he replaced.
