NASA has discovered Kepler-168f, a beautiful, earth sized planet 500 light years away. It is 40% larger than Earth, it has a 50% smaller sun. Another option would be the inhabitable super-earth 13 light years away, orbiting the Kapteyn's Star, a beautiful red fireball of awesome. Both have optimal life supporting climate and conditions.
What I'm proposing is we introduce this into destiny, sooner rather than later. There are many different story line options as to how this could play out. We could find one of these planets, previously untouched, but colonies under attack by an unknown threat. We could colonize one of the planets ourselves, build our own personal towns, each guardian, and defend them as a new game mode option, like clash of clans or something like that. Or we could rescue one of the planets from the darkness in a brand new raid. However we introduce one of these beautiful planets, I vote we visit them, save them, or conquer them one way or another.
Edit: The "Hell yeah, get me some of that" option is saying that we rush straight to the other Galaxy. Wether it be some amazing opportunity that calls us there, or some terrifying threat we need to stomp out at the root, that is what this option is for.
On the other hand, the "Why not both" option means we fight our way out, stabilizing our Galaxy, or at least a solid path out of the Galaxy, in order to reach this new space.

They really need to take the old patrol areas and make them larger, rather than adding new ones. The worlds feels small and cut up personally.
-
it needs a new solar system to add to the current one. reduce gravity on the moon (it should be closer to 1/8th of a G not a full 1 G). they could add: a snow planet with it snowing and ocasional blizzards reducing sight. a lava planet with volcanos that ocasionally rain down fire around randomly and can damage you. a stormy planet with ocasional lightning storms that can strike randomly and can damage you. a technologicaly advanced planet with a new race that becomes a freindly helping hand to the guardians (giving the option to fully customize your character, change race and change for new a face and change size options taller or shorter, thin or fat whatever else you could change). Red Lettered weapons that have special bonus perks, not exotic level but close to them like you got in borderlands so you could use more than a single weapon or armor piece allowing for more customization.

You want bungie to be creative? Good luck.
-
More weather effects, everywhere feels like Earth at day or night. Weather effects, storms, snow, ice, different physics on planets with lower gravity, I don't know just something different and creative for patrols
-
I said no just because I want to see so much more of the earth other than the little bit of Russia we got on patrol

Edited by Ryda: 1/28/2016 1:41:24 PMwile that idea is cool i have to ask, this idea for D1 or D2? if D1 then i went with the good old earth simply for the fact that as i see things are with the game and all the problems needing a fix the game as it is need a lot more focus in fixing the mess that it has become with all the changes and nerfs and lags etc than creating new half assed content, or in other words, focus on what they already have, IF D2 i would rather they tied up the non existent story of D1 and give it areal meaning and continuity than creating a bunch of new sidequests with little to no valor story wise (like every quest/story so far) PS: not putting your idea down just that i thing there are things that are more important for them to focus on

Since we haven't had so much as a new board since TTK launch... I don't think a new solar system is in the cards.
-
I don't think the game needs to leave even the planets it's been to yet... we need to actually explore them, not just run around in a few square miles on each.
-
Wouldn't a smaller sun mean colder planet?
-
Notice how in the "Set Destination" screen there is a box that says "Solar System" in the bottom leaf corner. It looks like you should be able to select it as change systems, but you can't.
-
¿Por que no los dos? Do you guys remember that Taco shell commercial?
-
Well in order for us to do that we would have to find a way to travel at or close to the speed of light, and by your estimation it would still take ~500 years to reach it. So it's actually pretty implausible at this particular time.
-
"...And we knew it was our destiny - to walk in the light of other Star's..." The speaker in his own words says this sometime during Vanilla Destiny storyline. This is Eventually where the game will go. I am certain of it.

Edited by firerwolf: 1/27/2016 7:43:40 PMYou do realize that humanity and the guardians are a barely surviving group that can't reach beyond the asteroid belt. What the hell makes you think suddenly they'd be able to go the speed of light or have ships that can manage long distance trips?
-
I think they'll implement that someday, I don't think they'd pi the system were currently in, in the director like it is now without some sort of plan. But... Bungie and all....
-
I think the next game should focus on the outer planets and moons. But yes going between systems would be fun.
-
Not until late. Mankind is still huddled behind the walls of The City...and we've barely scratched the surface of the possibilities of THIS star system.
-
I wanna go to planet hive and give it a good ol' orbital bombardment
-
Id like to finish our solar system before we find another.
-
I want to go to corusaunt and hunt Jedi ;)
-
Ummmm we still land in the same damn place in the cosmodrome on EARTH! lets get through this solar system with a fine tooth comb first
-
i would say more planets in our system. i can see it now...you get back to the tower after a mission on Uranus. You go and talk to the Speaker and whisper in his ear "I touched the Butt"
-
A new one? Bungie can't even get what we have now right.
-
There are more than enough possible locations in our own solar system to explore before we start thinking about others. It also makes sense from a story perspective to stay here. We still haven't completely taken our own system back, and the only Guardians with any real reason to go to another system would be Dead Orbit-aligned Guardians. Since that's kind of their entire end goal. As a side note, I'm not sure where you got your information about this system, but according to the actual astronomy journals, you are completely wrong about it. For one, it's a lot farther away than 13 ly, closer to 1400. And the star isn't red, being a spectral-type G2V main sequence star, like the Sun.

IDK why Guardians are not taking the fight the our enemies home worlds instead of waiting until they come to our solar system. No wonder why Earth and our colonies are all but wiped out. They must be following the Obama doctrine. It's time to bring out the Eisenhower doctrine and wipe them out on their worlds. I hope they also stop following Obama's gun controls and let us use extended clips and mags so my damn guns require less reloads. Year 2 implementation really sucks especially when it comes to field scout.
