I have consistently and loudly criticized Bungie for their lack of transparency and out right deception in recent months, however what has taken place over the past week gives me a glimmer of hope for the future of the franchise. Mere days after admitting to the secret introduction of skill-based match making and the uproar that ensued they are taking steps to pull back those changes. Time will tell how serious they are about fixing this issue but at the very least it is an encouraging step in the right direction of listening to us their customers and taking appropriate action. This will also be a telling tale of the Destiny community. Will we take the opportunity to reinforce and capitalize on this more honest and responsive step by Bungie or will the community use it as one more reason to stay salty? Hard to say, but for the first time in almost a year I feel like we might, just maybe, have reason for A New Hope.
